YEAR OF JUBILEE21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
1ST - 21ST NOVEMBER 2013
WEEK 3 - MONDAY 18TH - THURSDAY 21ST
NOVEMBER
CHURCH IN KENYADAY 18 - MONDAY 18TH NOV REPENTANCE
2 Chronicles. 7:14 If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.Let us take time to repent this week over things which have caused the
Church to stall in her progress and allowed the enemy to gain a foothold.
Firstly, we ask God to forgive us for heresies taught by some preachers, which
have undermined the power and relevance of Gospel. And also for our being
lax in contending for the faith against their false teaching.
Secondly, we repent for the Church’s casual approach to matters of morality.
We have not spoken strongly against immodesty and promiscuity as we have
been called upon by God’s Word. Pray that we shall no longer stand watch
while more marriages and families break apart, or put up with with such
vices as abortion and pornography. And that the Church, being the salt and
the light of the earth, will make a bold stand for holiness and righteousness.
Isaiah 29:13 the Lord says, “These people come near to me with their mouth and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” Let us ask forgiveness for our insensitivity and disobedience to the Spirit

of God and for outward religious observances that have had no inward
conviction.
DAY 19 - TUESDAY 19TH NOV RESTORATION
Isaiah 56:6-7 ...and foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve him, to love the name of the LORD and to worship him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant- these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer for all nations.
We ask the Father that the Church would be restored back to being a house
of prayer where God’s Word is honoured. Without faithful and in-depth
teaching of God’s Word that brings about understanding, people can neither
be transformed nor mature to their full potential in God’s service. Moreover,
we can get so caught up in our Church programs and projects, and personal
pursuits that we lose sight of developing our relationships with God. He is to
always be the focus and inspiration of all our plans and actions.
Take time to pray that you will be a devoted disciple of Christ who prays and
studies the Bible for personal spiritual growth. God wants you more than He
wants your service.
We also need to pray that we would remain firm about the divine purpose of
the Church, that is, to preach Christ and Him crucified, and that we may grow
in the fear of God us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
DAY 20 - WEDNESDAY 20TH NOV UNITY OF THE CHURCH
Ephesians 4.4-6 There is one body and one spirit just as you were called to one hope when you were called, one lord one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
The devil fights against the unity of the Church and is always seeking for
ways to wedge in differences amongst us, thereby keeping us divided. Jesus
YEAR OF JUBILEE

said that a house divided against itself cannot stand, and so we understand
that division in the body of Christ is not only shameful, it is also perilous.
Therefore, let us all repent for our personal and corporate contribution to
any disunity in interpersonal relationships and the congregation. Common
points of division are usually in matters of: doctrine/denomination, national
politics, tribes, social classes and status, and gender discrimination.
As a result of these vain disputes, we have wounded dear brothers and sisters
in Christ, attracted mockery and disdain from the unbelieving world and,
worst of all, brought disrepute to the name of God. We pray that Christ will
heal His Church by first convicting us of untoward behaviour toward others
and then helping us to forgive those who have hurt us. Pray also that we will
join hands to build the Kingdom of God using the diverse abilities that the
Spirit has given us.
Pray that Christ will unite us in His love, and that through the inward working
of the Holy Spirit we will set aside inconsequential differences and embrace
one another. Let us believe that the various parts of the body of Christ that
speak to Kenya will coordinate well with other members and speak as the
one voice of Christ.
DAY 21 - THURSDAY 21ST NOV JUBILEE OF THE CHURCH
On this last day of prayer and fasting, remember to thank God for giving
you the strength and grace to seek Him through this season. Give praise to
God in full assurance of faith that He has heard your petitions and that He
will answer according to His good pleasure. Take some time to worship and
praise Him and to celebrate His goodness and mercy over your life and the
Church in general.
Mathew 11.28 Come all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest

injustice and untie the cords of yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Pray that any and all the burdens you may have borne over the years will be
surrendered to Christ in this Year of Jubilee, and that you will only labour to
enter into His rest; Hebrews 4:11-13 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Pray that the Lord will deliver you from all secret sin, spiritual attacks and
anything that is a hindrance to a full enjoyment of your walk with God.
With the many trials in families, at work and in the country, we are all likely
to be shaken in our faith and become anxious for tomorrow. Pray that, come
what may, you will find contentment in the Lord, the founder and sustainer
of your faith.
Finally, pray that the Lord will restore to you what you have lost in the years
of your ignorance of salvation in Christ or from your bad choices in life.
