Programme Overview This programme aims to produce future fashion designers and professionals with world-class creative, analytical and professional skills and to address future global opportunities and challenges in the growing fashion industry. Supported by well-rounded general education and language modules, the programme will provide a solid design and management foundation in the first year, and advanced creative professional development in the next two years. A choice of two Study Streams in Fashion Design and Fashion Management, and Study Options (Knitwear Design, Fashion Accessories Design, specialised Fashion Design, Fashion Retailing, and Fashion Communication) will be offered from Year Two to Year Four, which provides diversified subject knowledge and experience, and creates new design development and practice of skills within the industry.

Career OutcomeThe streams and study options designed in the programme offer graduates specialised skill and professional knowledge to start their career. Valuable internship experience gained in Work-Integrated Learning module enables students to become the work-ready force in the fashion industry. Upon completion of the programme, fashion graduates can work in many different areas in the fashion business. Careers they can get in include fashion design, knitwear design, fashion accessory design, fashion development, fashion buying, fashion retailing, fashion communication and etc.

Programme Overview 

This programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become an inter-disciplinary product design professional, equipped to meet both local and global needs. It offers an educational experience which will groom and develop the professional aptitudes and attitudes needed for a career in Product Design. In addition, your intellectual capacity, practical abilities and professional attributes will be nurtured and developed.Through project-based learning, the programme encourages active engagement in all aspects of design practice. This includes an understanding of the theoretical framework for the subject and creative application to produce imaginative yet practical outcomes.

Career OutcomeGraduates will be equipped with professional knowledge of product design, awareness of new technology applications, and marketing acumen to join the product design and development industry. Career include designer, 3D artist, design engineer, project coordinator, project or product manager across fields including electronics, digital entertainment, jewellery, fashion, lifestyle, home, automotive and toys industries.

Programme Overview This programme aims to equip students with the theoretical, technical and professional skills and knowledge in horticulture and arboriculture management, landscape construction and maintenance, related sciences of plants, landscapes and the environment, and sustainable landscape management. It will prepare students to perform the roles and tasks related to horticultural and arboricultural supervision, tree assessment, landscape management, and professional support for both the development and conservation of landscapes and the environment. This Programme is included in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors since 2017/18 academic year to fulfill industries’ demand for professionals.

Career OutcomeUpon completion of the programme, graduates can be employed in both public and private sectors as follows: landscape and horticulture project manager, horticultural or tree specialist, horticultural inspector, arborist, tree risk assessor, landscape supervisor, tree works supervisor, industry business and technical representative, horticultural or landscape consultant and educator.

Programme Overview This programme equips students with theoretical, technical, and professional skills in a studio-based curriculum incorporating landscape planning and design, landscape technology, communication, professional practice, environmentalism and sustainability, and management. Together with the BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture it aims to meet the demand for qualified landscape architects in Hong Kong and the nearby regions.

Career OutcomeGraduates of the 2-year conversion course are able to enter the industry as designers or technical staff in a variety of fields ranging from landscape design and planning, urban design, and landscape management to environmental consultancy, ecological design, or habitat creation. Graduates following the “4+1” route (see below) will be able to enter the pathway to becoming Registered Landscape Architects.

Professional RecognitionGraduates of THEi’s BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture can enter directly into year 2 of the programme. This “4+1” mode has received Accreditation-in-Principle from the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA). An HKILA-accredited degree is a pre-requisite to admission to its professional practice examination and professional membership. Students may be required to attend additional training and industrial attachments, for which separate fees will be charged. Completion of additional core module(s) may be required prior to commencement or during Year 3 study for Year 3 entry.^ Students are allowed to either take “Nutrition & Health”or “Food in Daily Life” but not both modules to fulfil the graduation requirements.
