Legal Highlights What every home buyer should know before investing in Egypt:According to the Prime minister order (declaration Number 548 dated 5 April 2005) on property ownership for foreigners at Sharm El Sheikh area, it is a 99 years lease hold (Usufruct Rights) and enforced.For verification you can contact us for appropriate documentation, British Embassy Cairo legal department and Egyptian Embassy in UK.

New Decree Prime Minister Decree No. 650 Year 2007Dated: 17th February 2007Following the Prime Ministers most recent decree, it is not permitted for any company or institution of any nationality including Egyptians to obtain the freehold right on any of the property in the Sinai Peninsula as from 2005.

Only a renewable usufruct right is granted with a maximum period of 99 years from the issue date.

Process for registration of 99 years lease hold at El Tur city (3 to 6 months):• Present the documents at the register office at El Tur City.• The register office sends the documents to Cairo central registration office for foreigners.• After verification they send the documents back to El Tur City.• Documents are stamped.El Tur city is located 60 miles from Sharm El Sheikh.
