WHAT’S CHANGED?

WE HAVE MADE A FEW CHANGES IN SCHOOL WHICH HAVE BEEN MADE FOR

YOUR SAFETY.

THERE IS A ONE-WAY SYSTEM IN PLACE AROUND THE SCHOOL

EACH YEAR GROUP HAS DESIGNATED TOILET BLOCKS

WE CANNOT LEND OUT EQUIPMENT ANYMORE. (IF TEACHERS NEED TO

HAND OUT PAPER/BOOKS ETC., THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO SANITISE THEIR

HANDS FIRST.)

SOCIAL DISTANCING MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES

YOU MUST NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER PUPIL.

AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, YOU WILL BE IN YEAR GROUP ‘BUBBLES’

YOU WILL BE OUTSIDE AT BREAKS AND LUNCHTIMES (UNLESS IT POOR

WEATHER)

HYGIENE EVERY ROOM HAS HAND SANITISER, DISINFECTANT WIPES AND

TISSUES IN IT

YOU MUST REGULARLY SANITIZE YOUR HANDS (BRING YOUR OWN

BOTTLE OF SANITISER, IF POSSIBLE).

IF YOU HAVE TO BLOW YOUR NOSE, USE A TISSUE AND THEN BIN IT

DO NOT TOUCH ANY OBJECTS OR SURFACES UNNECCESSARILY

YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WIPE DOWN CHAIRS AND DESKS WITH A

WIPE ONCE YOU HAVE USED THEM

EACH YEAR GROUP HAS DESIGNATED TOILET BLOCKS YEAR 7 ARE

IN THE TECHNOLOGY AND L BLOCK

PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN FIRST BEFORE YOU FLUSH IT

BREAKS & LUNCHTIMES

YOU WILL BE OUTSIDE FOR BREAKS & LUNCHTIMES (UNLESS IT IS POOR WEATHER)

BRING A COAT THAT KEEPS YOU WARM AND DRY. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ‘HOODIES’!

IF IT IS POOR WEATHER YOU CAN GO IN YOUR FORM ROOM ONLY!

YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WANDER AROUND THE SCHOOL OR HANG AROUND IN CORRIDORS.

IF YOU WANT TO SEE HOY, YOU MUST ASK YOUR TUTOR TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU

FOOD

THE SCHOOL CANTEEN WILL BE OPEN

TUCK IS ONLY FOR YEARS 10 & 11

THERE WILL BE A SPECIFIC AREA TO EAT PACKED LUNCHES

YOU NEED TO STICK YOUR YEAR GROUP TIMINGS FOR LUNCH

EACH YEAR GROUP WILL HAVE SPECIFIC TABLES IN THE

CANTEEN

BRING A WATER BOTTLE WITH YOU, THE WATER FOUNTAINS

MAY STILL NOT BE IN USE

YOU MUST WASH /SANITISE YOUR HANDS BEFORE EATING

UNIFORM

From September, all pupils will be expected to wear full uniform as per the school rules

PUPILS MUST WEAR BLACK TRADITIONAL STYLE SHOES NOT TRAINERS OR BOOTS

*If you have a medical reason to wear trainers, make sure you have a note on the first day back

ON YOUR FIRST DAY BACK

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A COAT, BOTTLE OF HAND SANITSER, CORRECT UNIFORM

TAKE THE MOST DIRECT ROUTE TO YOUR FORM ROOM (FOLLOW THE ARROWS ON THE

FLOOR)

THIS MAY TAKE YOU LONGER THAN NORMAL, WHILST YOU GET USED TO THE ONE WAY

SYSTEM, SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME

YOU WILL NEED A BOTTLE OF WATER AS THE WATER FOUNTAINS MAY NOT BE ON

YOU WILL NOT NEED YOUR GAMES KIT

• Year 7s and Year 12s ONLY will come in for on Wednesday 2 September

• Year 8s and Year 9s ONLY will come in for on Thursday 3 September

• Year 10s and 11s ONLY will come in for one day on Friday 4 September

• ‘Normal school’ will then resume for all pupils in all year groups on Monday 7 September

When are we going back? Year 7 are back on Wednesday 3 September.

Will I recognise any people? How long will I be given to adapt? What's social distancing like and what will

it look like in school? Only Years 7 and 12 will be in on your first day. This should give you time and space

to get used to school

Will we be allowed to wear personal safety equipment such as masks? Yes, if you wish to.

When will we get our timetables and sets? You will receive these on your first day

Will school ever be the same again, when we return? Yes. People (not buildings) make a school.

Will school days be the same length and structure? The school day will be the same as it was before

lockdown.

What will be the biggest, most noticeable change/s? The one way system and signs, BEING OUTSIDE AT

BREAKS & LUNCH

When we get back to school will it be like a usual schools day like before lockdown or will we have to

wear masks and keep distance. It will be a usual school day but you must try to maintain social

distancing. You can wear a mask, if you wish.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What will the classrooms look like and how many per class? The classroom will look the same. Most classes will have

normal numbers in them.

What will the buses be like for getting to and from school. Please see Mr Northwood’s letter regarding this

When will clubs be back on? As soon as staff are able to run them. We will let you know.

Is it ok to be nervous? Yes, but we have put lots of measures in place to try to help your reduce your anxieties

Will I be able to be in a “bubble” with my friends? Or will it get chosen for me? You will be in a ‘Year group bubble’ as

much as possible

If there’s a second spike of coronavirus will we stop coming in? We will advise on that when we have the information

What will the situation in the changing rooms be like after sport? We will give you more space to get changed away

from others

What will happen for work and tasks we’ve not completed ? Your teachers will speak to you about this and this will be

reflected in your engagement grades.

Will we be able to go to dinner with people who aren’t in our year. No, unfortunately that will

not be possible

Can we play football and will we be able to do games and PE? Yes, but you must not touch

other pupils

Will the bus bay be normal(crowded)? Social distancing will be in place

Will toilets be usual or will less people be allowed in? Each Year group will have a designated

toilet block. YEAR 7 ARE IN THE TECHNOLOGY AND L BLOCKS

Will we have to where mask all the time and will we be in our friendship groups or random

groups? Its up to you (and your parents) if you wish to wear a mask. You will be in a Year

group bubble

What are you supposed to do at lunchtime when everybody is walking about near you? You

will be outside for breaks and lunchtimes, so there should be lots of room for everyone to

keep apart.
