Reading comprehensions:

Here are 4 different comprehensions using

the trailers of 4 Marvel films. Watch the

linked clip and answer the comprehension questions linked

to the clips.

one of the people.

2. Create your character – decide your name, age,

experience of war, parents’ role in war and what you feel

about the end of the war.

3. Read the extracts on the same page and use them to

help you develop your character further.

4. Now write a diary entry from their point of view. Use

this diary writing sheet to help you.

5. Edit your writing using the writing mats to help you.

We never had our Evacuee Day that was planned for

the last week of the Spring Term. We wondered if

you’d like to put those outfits on and pose for a

black and white photo that could be sent to us along

with other pictures of your VE Day learning/

celebrations. We would like to create a slideshow or

something to celebrate your learning from this week.

You could even create a gas mask box or use the

props from Resource 4.

your street party food. Decorate your food

- photo of you playing a game from the 1940s.
