Spellings

Make a spelling word memory. To do this select 10 of

the spellings from your 100 word list that you are not so

confident with spelling. For each spelling make a card

with the word and a card with the definition. All cards

need to be the same side.

Comprehension

Read the comprehension about national anthems in Europe.

Use your active reading skills to highlight the important

information needed to understand the text. Now answer the

questions.

Ext - write down four questions of your own about the text.

Science - Today we are going to look at classifying different

animals. What is the animal below? How would you classify

it? Watch the clip to discover more about this fascinating

animal.

Play memory spelling game from yesterday.

Where would your dream holiday destination be? Have you

visited a destination you’d recommend to others? Your

English task over the next four days is to plan and write a

persuasive advert to convince people / families to book a

holiday to your dream destination. Today your task is to plan

your persuasive advert. How are you going to present your

advert: as a pamphlet, a page from a holiday brochure, a

display page or have you your own unique idea? More ideas

are added below the timetable.

What countries/continents have you been to? What countries/continents have your family and friends visited, grown up in or lived in? Do you have any favourite celebrities (sports, entertainment etc) who come from a different country? Today we are going to investigate what links we have to other countries. What is a continent and what is a country? Discuss explanations. Continent Definition: one of the Earth’s large land masses. Country Definition: an area of land, with its people, culture and geography, that has a government that runs and organises the country. Complete activity 1 where you look at what connections you have with other countries.
