The expectations are outlined below: Week 1: 5 Slide PowerPoint of 5 large scale black/white images which reflect your

theme.

Week 2: Begin gridding out you’re A4 Observational Drawing.

Week 3: Complete gridding out your A4 Observational Drawing

• Week 4: Begin adding Black Biro Tone to your A4 Observational Drawing

• Week 5: Continue to add Black Biro to your A4 Observational Drawing.

• Week 6: Refine using Biro or Fine-liner to complete your Observational Drawing.

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGTASK 1:

The aim of this drawing task is to produce an A4

Pencil/ Biro drawing. You are now going to

continue the drawing process, by starting to add

biro tone.

Before you tone to complete work on your

Observational drawing, please use a fresh sheet of

A4 paper and a Black Ballpoint Biro to experiment

with Mark Making and Textures.

shading techniques.

EQUIPMENT- Reference Image, Gridded Pencil Drawing &

Black Ballpoint Biro. (optional- A4 printed reference image)

TASK 2: Once you have watched the following videos you should

begin carefully applying biro tone to your drawing following the

success criteria.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: Ensure the outline is accurate before you begin adding biro

tone.

Ensure you apply the lightest tones first and gradually get

darker.

Ensure your tonal direction follows the shape you are applying

shade to.

Aim to recreate all the small details.

drawing. You have watched the video link on Task 1 and completed a page of mark making

using a Biro.

Preferable expectation: You have watched the series of video tutorials on Task 2 and have

begun to apply tonal marks using a biro to your pencil outline.
