Assessment Policy
• Please read - students it is your responsibility to be informed
• Students should read all parts of this policy, as well as parents
• Note information about absences during assessments

Missed Assessments
• At times students will need to miss due to an illness — when returning to school a student will need a medical certificate to cover the period of time that the assessment was missed
• Assessments that are out of class are due the first day back
• In class assessments — teachers will most likely provide an alternative assessment task that will be completed out of school time on a Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm, supervised by Mrs Carruthers or Mr Inder.

Study Tips• Keep a diary of all assessments/tasks/homework
and/or use the SEQTA dashboard• Prepare a calendar or use SEQTA upcoming
assessments to note all due dates • Review notes daily and organise for the next class
— check to see if you need any questions answered• Begin preparing for each assessment from the day
you get notification of it• Study is different to doing homework• Keep distractions, such as your mobile phone, away
from the study area

Year 10 Exams
• Semester 1 exams are scheduled for Term 2, weeks 7 & 8
• Classes will not run and students will be expected to attend their appropriate exams and use the rest of the time for exam preparation
• Most exams are of a 1.5 to 2 hour duration • Includes work covered in Semester 1
Preparing for exams• Preparing for Semester 1 exams should begin now —
by organising notes and reviewing information. Don’t get behind.
• As exams approach, create a study timetable and stick to it. Ms Bronwyn McCue can assist you with preparing an effective study timetable.
• Semester 1 exams are an important indicator of expected grades for prerequisites for Year 11 courses — do your best in these exams!
• Week 10, Term 2 (Monday 1 July until Friday 5 July)
• A letter has been sent to parents and will be further discussed with students in their Careers classes

• Students are required, with their parents’ assistance, to find their own placements
• Students are covered by insurance through the College during this Work Experience week
