Reading and Home Learning
Children will read to a teacher on a weekly basis.
New Home/School reading logs will be given to your child this week.
Home Learning
Please continue to read with your child as often as possible, and help them to learn phonic sounds.
Weekly Home Learning will be sent home on a Friday and is to be handed in by the following Tuesday. There may be times
when home learning is set over two weeks to enable
time to develop specific skills.

Phonics
Phonics assessments will take place in June. They assess your child’s ability to read real and pseudo (made up) words, by sounding out and blending the sounds together. The children will not be required to say whether the word is real or made up.
There is a phonics workshop coming up on Wednesday 10th
October 9:15 – 10:15
Pronounciation of sounds
In order to help children blend the sounds accurately it is important that they hear the sounds pronounced correctly, without the ‘uh’ at the end.
