The main purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity to all our devotees to take part in this unique event and get blessed. The offering of navaratnas are planned for both Saturday and Sunday whole day. Yantra and Ratna sthapanam is an important aspect of consecration of the garba grahas in a temple. This involves the placement of precious gems and the moola yantra (specific inscription for the deity to be consecrated) in the sanctum before the installation of the idol. PROGRAM The event will begin on the afternoon of Friday, 8th June 2018 with the kalasa sthapana and related pujas. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, the temple will be receiving devotees willing to participate in the Yantra and Ratna Nyasa function. Several devotees have sponsored Yantra Puja in their homes and the devotees and their family and friends were provided navaratnas at the time of such puja. During this event, these devotees will bring their navaratnas and place them in the sanctum, Other devotees willing to take part in this event may do so during the event. Yantra, which literally means “machine” refers to a plate which has special text and geometric patterns on it. The plate is typically made of gold, silver or copper. The text and the geometric patterns are dependent on the type of idol to be installed. These are usually selected by the Chief Priest based on principles laid out in the agama shastras. Ratnas refer to precious gems that are placed along with the yantra in the foundation. It is believed that the yantras help to harness the spiritual vibrations of the devotees that come to the temple. The yantra nyasam function will be followed by anchoring the idols to the peetam using Ashta bandanam, a special adhesive that helps hold the statue in fixed position, transferred into a living and vibrant Bimba of the Lord with innate beauty, grace and splendor.
