Y5 NEWS
SUMMER TERM 2
WEEK 5 (ISSUE 3)
Hello everyone,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and that you enjoyed the tropical weather last week,
which we ordered especially for the sports day activities. We’ve seen some AWESOME
scores, EPIC achievements and PHENOMENAL photos (though I am yet to accept ‘plank’ as a
verb – MrsC)
It is almost unbelievable to think that this Wednesday we will step into July and the summer
holidays are on our doorstep. We know these holidays aren’t going to be quite the same as
usual but there is still a lot to look forward to and now is the time to write those wish lists and
start making plans…camping in the garden anyone? Stargazing – it is almost shooting star
season! How about a mocktail party? Please send your holiday at home ideas to us, maybe
you will inspire your friends!
Be brave, and always a little kinder than you need to be.
Stay in touch,
Mr Cooper & Mrs Croft
BOOK RECOMMENDATION
What are you enjoying reading? Let us
know!
This week’s book recommendation
comes from a boy who is worried about
returning to the world. He found
comfort in this book, which can be read
as a story or opened randomly to
reveal snippets of courage and
kindness.
Here is a little excerpt to whet your
appetite…

Malorie Blackman
Malorie Blackman is a wonderful author of
many books but I happen to know that we
have a few copies of this one in our library. It
is here because it is a story written entirely in
verse – a giant poem. If you enjoy this part of
the book then maybe you will go and read
