Mulberry House Terms and Conditions1. Confirmation1.1 Confirmation is required 10 days after the initial booking has beentaken. A booking is considered definite, when confirmed in writing, along witha deposit of £1,500.1.2 Bookings cannot be held provisionally after this time frame andmay be released without notice. Our Terms & Conditions need to beduly signed.2. Payment2.1 At 6 months prior to wedding date, we require a further payment of50% of the outstanding balance of estimated charges.2.2 At 6 weeks prior to the wedding date, we require a firm indicationof numbers in order for an estimated invoice to be raised and finalnumbers 4 weeks prior at which point invoice should be paid. Thisfigure will be charged should the final number reduce.2.3 If paying by Credit Card, a additional 2% will be added to coverour credit card handling fee.2.4 Failure to make payment may result in your booking beingcancelled.2.5 Any additional extras occurring from the event must be settled ondeparture from Mulberry House. We are unable to accept post-datedcheques.3. Civil Ceremonies3.1 If a Civil Ceremony is required there will be room hire charge.3.2 We will include full use of our audio system for your music duringthe Ceremony. Mulberry House has a number of licensed rooms;please contact our wedding coordinators to discuss.3.3 It is the responsibility of the client to contact the SuperintendentRegistrar at Essex County Council to book the ceremony.4. Number Requirements4.1 There are minimum number requirements on certain days ordates. This minimum number is the figure on which all the per-headcharges will be based. Our charges will then be based on either theminimum numbers or the final numbers which ever is the greater.4.2 The maximum seating capacity is 140 guests with an additional 40(unseated) for the evening element. The maximum seating capacity inthe Marquee is 180 including evening. 4.3 We request a firm indication of numbers 4 weeks prior to the eventand final numbers 2 weeks prior. This figure will be charged shouldthe final number reduce. A guest list must be supplied and anadditional list for evening guests for health and safety requirements.5. Package Costs5.1 We feel that our wedding package includes everything you willneed to make the day complete. However, our package can beupgraded depending on the items required.5.2 If the wedding continues into the evening and additional guestsare invited, an evening buffet will be served. We cater for 75% of thetotal day guests plus evening guests.5.3 Children can be catered for, please ask the wedding coordinatorfor prices.5.4 Every effort is made for your wedding to be a memorable occasionbut we cannot guarantee exclusive use of the house and gardens.6. Menus6.1 Our wedding menus have been created by our team ofexperienced chefs. Please select one dish per course for all guests,allowing for special dietary requirements. These can be catered forbut must be notified approximately 4 weeks before the function. In theevent that you would like an alternative dish, we are happy toaccommodate you but it may incur a supplement charge.6.2 Menus are subject to change or altered without prior notice.6.3 If there is to be an evening element to the day (a band or discohas been booked) an evening buffet is necessary. Any extra eveningguests will be charged on a per person basis, however for catering ourfigures will reflect a minimum of 75% of the total day guests plusevening guests.6.4 No consumption of own food, drinks or alcohol permitted at anytime. With the exception of baby food or celebration cakes. 7. Corkage7.1 Mulberry House does not allow the customer to bring their ownfood or drink to the hotel to be consumed at the event, with theexception of baby food and wedding cakes.8. Drinks 8.1 All drinks are measured at: Champagne - 125 ml, Wine - 175ml,Spirits - 25ml. 9. Prices including accommodation9.1 Prices are listed on our rate guide but are subject to changewithout prior notice. There is no charge for our cake stand and knife. 10. Finishing Times10.1 Finishing times are 11.30 pm for the bar and 12 midnight for themusic (a late licence till 1am is available at an additional charge of£500). The residents bar will remain open and the closure of this is atthe Manager’s discretion. Carriages at 12.3010.2 Non-resident clients are requested to vacate Mulberry Housewithin one hour of the end of the function. Mulberry House reservesthe right to levy additional charges should Mulberry House staff beretained beyond 01.00 hrs.10.3 Mulberry House reserves the right to close an event early shouldthere be abuse to the staff or disorder by any guest or as aconsequence of the event. Should this occur Mulberry House will beentitled to retain all sums previously paid (or which have becomepayable) by you.

11. Entertainment11.1 Mulberry House has a resident DJ and therefore it isrecommended that you organise your entertainment via this channel.Your choice of entertainment must carry a public liability Insurancecertificate and sufficient PAT testing for their electrical equipment.11.2 Fireworks are not accepted at Mulberry House.11.3 Whilst every effort will be made to cater to our client’s requests,Mulberry House respectfully requests that the audible level of noise,caused in particular by audio equipment, be maintained at reasonablelevels. Mulberry House has the sole discretion regarding what isreasonable.12. Equipment and Property12.1 Client’s own equipment and property is brought into MulberryHouse at the client’s own risk. Mulberry House accepts no liability forloss or damage.12.2 Wedding presents must be removed from the premises asMulberry House cannot accept these items for safekeeping. Itemssuch as table plans, favours, etc., can only be delivered approximately24 hours prior to the function.13. Damage13.1 A £500 returnable deposit is made to cover any damage causedby guests, their guests, agents or employees.13.2 In the event that damage exceeds £500 the persons signing thecontract are liable for any damage that has become evident during theevent or on inspection of rooms, buildings or grounds.14. Agents14.1 Should an agent wish to enter into a contract with MulberryHouse, the agent acts for the client and it is the client’s responsibilityto ensure payment is made of the account.14.2 We do not pay commission to agents on wedding bookings.15 Confetti15.1 Confetti is a familiar part of any wedding but we please ask thatconfetti is used in the inside areas of Mulberry House and that noconfetti is thrown in the Grounds.16. Wedding Stationery16.1 If required Mulberry House offers a printing service.17. Bedrooms17.1 Rooms may be booked on a first come, first served basis, at thebest rate available at the time of booking and restrictions may apply.Check in is from 2.00pm and check out is 10.30 am the followingmorning. Rooms can only be booked and paid for by the individualsthemselves, allocating of rooms is not permitted. Early check in is onlyguaranteed by booking the room the night prior. A credit card isrequired from the individual guests at the time of booking to securetheir room. We appreciate guests may be travelling from afar but wecannot guarantee early access to bedrooms.17.2 Latest check in time is 6.00pm. Late check in may be available onrequest.17.3 Upgrades will be charged.18. Bedroom cancellation18.1 Cancellation of any bedroom must be notified to us 3 days beforethe function or your deposit will not be refunded.19. Contract19.1 When a contract is confirmed in writing or with a credit cardnumber, a contract is deemed to exist. This contract is governed byEnglish Law. Where a Bride and Groom or clients have both signed acontract, they are both responsible for the payment of invoices andcancellation charges.19.2 Mulberry House reserve the right to remove guests forinnapropriate behaviour at any time (in such an instance no refund willbe given). 20. Lost Property20.1 Please be advised that your guests are responsible for theirproperty. Property will be retained on the premises for individuals tocollect for up to 2 months.21. Wedding Cancellations21.1 If you need to cancel your booking, you must tell us by telephoneand confirm in writing as soon as possible. We will be entitled toretain all sums previously paid (or which has become payable) by you.21.2 If you need to reduce the facilities or guest numbers set out onthe event schedule, you must tell us by telephone and we will sendyou an amended event schedule. We will still however be entitled tocharge you according to the guaranteed minimum numbers shown onthe Rate Guide.24. Mulberry House Grounds24.1 Clients are reminded that Mulberry House retains a variety ofanimals and birds for the enjoyment of all. Clients are asked to giverespect to these animals and not cause them alarm or distress. Inparticular, children should be accompanied by responsible adults at alltimes.24.2 Within the Mulberry House grounds are three deep-water lakes;accordingly responsible adults should accompany children at all times.25. Complaints:25.1 We will endeavour to ensure your function is a success. Shouldyou have cause for complaint, please endeavour to inform the DutyManager on the day of the event to ensure that details are accuratelyrecorded. 25.2 If you are not happy with any part of the civil ceremony pleasenotify the Superintendent Registrar at Essex County Council.
