Our Principal
Dr. Karen Brooks Favorite • Dr. Karen Brooks Favorite’s educational career spans over a
thirty-five year period, where she has served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Orleans and Our Lady of Holy Cross University; an Assistant Principal of Pierre A. Capdau – Charter School and proprietor of TAWKPIN Development Agency. In Jefferson Parish Schools System she has served in multiple capacity at the district and school level, before becoming the Principal of Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts.
• Dr. Favorite holds a Bachelor of Music from Xavier University of Louisiana; a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Our Lady of Holy Cross; a Master of Arts in Curriculum Development/Reading Specialist, from Xavier University of Louisiana and her PhD in Leadership from the University of New Orleans.
• Dr. Favorite is an honored member of the DELTA SIGMA THETA SORIETY Inc., Kappa Gamma Pi National Honor Society, and Golden Key International Honor Society.
Married to Preston J. Favorite, proud parents of Tremaine, Anthony, Edward, William and India.

Our Assistant Principal
Mrs. LaShon Dixon • Mrs. LaShon W. Dixon received her Bachelor of
Science degree from Southern University of New Orleans in Elementary Education and her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. Mrs. Dixon has been employed with Jefferson Parish Schools for 22 years. She has held several positions in the district including Elementary and Middle School Teacher, Assistant Principal, and District Math Coordinator for grades 3-5.
• Mrs. Dixon is a product of Jefferson Parish Schools and is excited to serve as the Assistant Principal at Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts, in the community that she was raised. She is a proud wife, mother of 5, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Pi Omega Chapter.

Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts, curriculum is designed by the Louisiana Department of Education and Jefferson Parish Schools. The Arts (music, dance, theater and visual arts) and Technology are both integrated in the curriculum so that our students can reach academic success. Reading, Writing and Math skills are also integrated across all disciplines.
