HOW TO TAKE
A GREAT PHOTO
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!

Decide whether you want to take a
close-up picture, or a photograph from far away, so everything
will appear small.
Make the picture interesting by trying different angles - try
taking the photograph on your tummy or tilting the camera.
Decide where you want the subject in the picture. This is called framing or choosing
the composition.
Keep fingers, camera straps and hair away from the lens.
Decide exactly who or what you want in your picture. This is
called selecting.
Photography is fun, exciting and can be done wherever you are. There are lots of possibilities for you to take incredible photographs - just look around you. We hope these top tips will help you.
PHOTOGRAPHY
9 THINGS TO FIND
IN YOUR GARDEN:
TREASURE HUNT
It’s time to get creative and see if you can photograph each item on the list. Pay attention to the angle you choose for each picture and where you stand when you take it. Remember to keep your camera nice and still so the images don’t blur when you take them.
something green
a shadow
something shiny
a burst of colour
something spiky
a pattern
something high up
an insect
something shaped like a horse!
TOP TIP!
Decide what to include in the
frame. For example: if you
photograph a flower, do you
want to include all of the flower
and your hand touching it, or
get in closer and only see the
colour of the petals?
