Part One: YOUR Epistemological World ViewsSummarize here your findings (even if tentative!) about your philosophies of knowledge:Absolutist, Relativist, or Rationalist?

Domains Item #s YOUR Philo of K Brief Reason + Remarks

Natural Science 1, 5, 14 Absolutist I believe that there’s one and only one answer for anyquestion in the natural science

Part Three: AUTHORITY and/or EVIDENCE/ARGUMENT

When you justify claims, how much do you actually rely on External Authority and DirectEvidence for every domain? Assign a percentage to each one per domain (Just make anestimate, so NO decimal points--e.g., “25.2321%!). Make sure both total 100%.

Domains %AUTHORITY

%EVIDENCE / ARGUMENT

Brief Reason + Remarks

Natural Science 50 50 100% The one who says the claim has to equally sustain hisreputation by supporting his claim with evidence.

Social Science 70 30 100% While it’s best to hear from someone who has high authorityin the subject, they at least have to have some evidence.

Art 35 65 100% While an authority can tell you what is good or badin art, they’re very useless without any evidence.

Morality 90 10 100% It’s hard to prove what’s right or wrong, so let’s justlisten to the proper authority to guide us.

Religion 70 30 100% You can’t definitely prove any religion withevidences, so it’s best to just listen to the properauthority regarding the matters.

Why do you think there is no OPINION in Part Three?Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and we can’t exactly justify a claim solely

based on someone’s opinion. In fact, it’s more than hard to even simply takesomeone’s opinion as a way to justify a claim because of the human flaw that weare not perfect, so ones opinion may itself be filled with so much flaw.

Some other learnings, comments, connections...There are many ways for us to learn something, but there will be times that thingsare harder to learn compared to the others. I personally find learning Chinese tobe very difficult, but to learn something like the natural sciences is almost a pieceof cake for me. It may be because of my philosophy towards learning. I,personally, can’t rationalize learning a language, so in turn, I have great difficultylearning one. The idea sounds too abstract, and so it just bothers my head into

wondering how in the world should I be communicating. On the other hand, for thenatural sciences, the laws and theories that govern the universe all makes senseto me, and it tells me so much and I can tell so much from it as well.
