  • Mail threatsThe threat from suspect devices is not exclusive toone industry or sector. A threat in the post cancome in many different forms and it is important tohave the facility to identify any possible threatsaimed at your staff or organisation.

These cleverly concealed threats could be anexplosive combining a power source and a trigger,a powder or even a hoax, but if delivered and anyof these items are opened; they all havedevastating consequences. As an example, apowder threat can easily be delivered as thematerial is light and is very often hard to detect. Ahoax, if not handled correctly can also disrupt therunning of your business; resulting in a loss ofrevenue through evacuation of your premises ordamage to corporate image.

A Mailroom X-Ray Screening cabinet or conveyorwill protect your staff and premises by detecting:

    • explosives (IEDs)• chemical and biological threats• weapons• drugs• malicious mail.

  • What we do

Health and Safety complianceAll equipment complies with applicable International Health & Safety regulationsLeakage dose at outer surface

  • Path to getting a Mail ScannerGetting any new piece of equipment and changing a process can seem complicated, but we have lotsof experience in implementing X-Ray Mail Scanners to single and multiple sites and from largerorganisations to smaller businesses and give you full support throughout.

We do this in 5 steps...

    Threat assessment

    Threat assessment report is produced

Meeting to discuss report and recommendations forequipment and training if required

Installation of equipment and operator training

Account Manager review of equipment and procedures

  • Mailroom threat assessmentIf you are not already using any X-Ray screeningequipment then our Threat Assessment is the mostimportant part of our service to you. We carry outthis assessment at your premises (and will do thisfor each of your sites if you have multiple offices)with the assistance of your Postroom or SecurityManager.

If you are already using equipment to screen yourincoming mail then a Threat Assessment willensure that your equipment, operators andprocesses are ready for any threat that you mayencounter.

This assessment takes around 20 minutes tocomplete and will leave you with a confidentialreport which details the areas of your incomingmail process that are exposed. This will alsohighlight and inform you of best practices forhandling suspect items.

Our Threat Assessment Managers are fully trainedand will then guide you through our range ofequipment so you can make an informed choicebased on your requirements and volumes of post(including parcels from couriers), where theequipment will be located and who need to use it.

To arrange a Threat Assessment please contact usby phone on 01322 288890.

  • Designed with a compact footprint for yourbusiness when space is at a premium andfor smaller quantities of incoming mail, packages and bags. The MR10 and MR15are a cost effective way to protect yourstaff, premises and ensure minimaldisruption to your business.

Due to their compact size cabinet scannerscan be used in all areas includingmailrooms, reception areas, goods in andcontraband detection.

Although smaller, these cabinet X-Rayscanners will still produce high resolutionimages letting you see instantly on thescreen what is in any item of post youreceive. The enhancement tools built intoour cabinet scanners allow you to capturean image and then further investigate usingnegative images and EPD.

The MR40 provides one of the largestscanning cabinets available but has afootprint of just 0.3 square meters so itwill easily fit into a space too small for aconveyor scanner. The user interface isvery easy to use and this combined withour operator training when theequipment is installed, will ensure thatyou are alerted to any suspect items youmay encounter.

The built-in software and networkingallows you to quickly investigate possiblethreats including Enhanced PowderDetection and capture an image. Thisimage can be saved for use in futuretraining or emailed directly to anothermember of your team as part of yourescalation process.

  • ADS (Advanced Detection System)

    TIP (Threat Image Projection)

When added to your X-Ray scanning unit, ADS softwareenhances your threat detection capability. Advanced algorithmshighlight suspect items using the density and atomic number ofexplosives, drugs or cash and highlight these on your monitor incolour and creates an alert.

ADS software is invaluable for busy mailrooms and higherquantities of mail as the equipment operators are given a muchhigher and enhanced detection system.

TIP software is a virtual image management tool, and is thepreferred training method of regulatory agencies worldwide. Ithelps you to ensure that the equipment operators are fully usingtheir training, enhancing their skills and using the scanners' fullpotential.

The software runs in the background and creates a fictionalthreat, projecting this image randomly into everyday scanningfor the operators to discover and investigate. Hit and missreports can be run by a manager remotely or when logging offthe system.

  • Maintenance

TrainingThe most effective way of securing your premises from postal threats is to ensure that any staff who use X-RayScreening equipment are trained and that their training is up to date. The operators and security staff whoattend our courses will gain a clear understanding of how to determine if an item is "Safe or Suspect". They willknow what actions and protocols are needed so that the suspect item is dealt with effectively, with minimumimpact on your business.

Using TIP (Threat Image Projection) software you will also be able to monitor and review how your staff react toa threat by projecting an image of a threat into an item that is being screened.

Using any X-Ray equipment within an organisation means compliance with the IonisingRadiation Regulations 1999 (IRR99). Annual checks are a legal requirement but also ensurethe continued performance and running of your equipment. We offer mandatory coverthat provides planned service calls to carry out safety checks and provide the requiredcertificates.

Our fully comprehensive cover includes certification, safety checks and all parts, labourand call-outs if you do experience a fault. This also includes a place at one of our Safe orSuspect training courses and refresher training during planned service visits at no extracost.
