30%Xerox has delivered document-related cost savings of 30% on average.2 If your businessspends 15% of revenueon documents, think what that can do for your bottom line.

Document costs are

as much as15%of your annual revenue.

We focus on people doing document-intensivework.

We found $30,000 of annual costs hiding in envelopes.

As part of a thorough document assessment for this bank, we looked at all of the differentenvelopes it used in the course of a year – different sizes, different window placements, different logos. We taped the envelope variations… all 600 of them… up on a wall for the client to see. The problem was obvious. The solution was like new-found money.

We find millions of dollars hiding in warehouses.

They’re disguised as skids of marketing and sales materials, business forms, product and serviceliterature. The plan was to print plenty of them on offset presses to get the cost-per-piece down. But now they sit in a warehouse in varying stages of information decay and unplanned obsolescence.

One Xerox customer calculates that they will save $17 million overthe next three years using Xerox on-demand publishing to change their document production modelfrom “print and store” to “print on-demand.”

The opportunities go far beyond cost savings…

In most businesses today, 90% of customer communications is throughdocuments.3 That’s a lot of people and a lot of documents. We see if theyhave the right process and the righttools to get their work done in themost efficient and effective manner.

In most cases, there’s plenty of room for improvement.

Sometimes, we find more printers, copiers, scanners and faxes than people. For one customer, we reduced theirmachine count on one floor from 60 to 10.

We configured our multifunction systems and printers and placed them strategically so people wouldhave the document capabilities they needed to get their work donebetter and faster. We call it “balanced deployment” and it helped them save thousands of dollars a year inpaper, supplies and maintenance.

It all adds up.

Consider every document your people useto run your business and communicatewith customers, employees, suppliers, channel partners, and shareholders.

Now think of your people and all the time spent creating, storing, printing, copying, scanning, faxing, and delivering them.

Add it all up and it’s a very importantnumber. In businesses with document-intensive work, it’s as much as 15%of annual revenue.1

Imagine the opportunities.

Most business owners, executives, and managers can cite operational costs to the penny. But they areshocked to discover that documentcosts are often a double-digit hit on revenue.

We can help you spend lessand get more.

We look at how your organizationworks with documents, and we findways to make it more efficient andmore effective. It’s as simple as that.

4.5Trillion

Saving time where the paperwork meets the network.

Xerox can help you work seamlesslywith paper and digital documents in the same process.

Our scanning solutions convert paperinto digital documents quickly and easily. They can be indexed and stored, current, secure, and available to author-ized people on a moment’s notice.

It can be as simple as scanning yourmeeting notes to the team via e-mail.Or it can be as advanced as developingan integrated, highly automated docu-ment workflow that speeds up yourbusiness and increases productivity.

better waysto work.

Let’s talk about

The documents and revenue connection.

Customer contracts, loan applications, enrollment applications, order forms, all have to move through a review and approval process, often involvingpaper and digital documents. Decisionsmust be made. If the approving partiesdon’t have all of the documents theyneed readily available, the decision isstalled. So is the revenue stream.

The results can be dramatic.By focusing on what we call Smarter Document Management™,we can help you significantly reducesteps, labor and/or time, simplify doc-ument intensive business processes, and help transform the way you work.

Making time for your new customers.

Working with a brokerage house,we helped cut the time it takes to open a new customer account inhalf. How? By using XML-basedforms and Xerox DataGlyphs® to accelerate the capture and managementof their new customer information.

That saves a lot of document management time and dramaticallyreduces copying and faxing. This notonly simplifies the process, it givestheir agents the potential to generatemore revenue on a daily basis.

Dramatically fewer copies and faxes? You probably didn’t expect that from Xerox.

How’s your paperless office?

4.5 trillion hard-copy pages(prints and copies) will be produced in businesses aroundthe world in 2007, according to IDC. Imagine a stack of paperreaching well beyond the moon.

For most businesses, the incredible amount of paper and digital documents creates a serious management problemand a workflow bottleneck that can grind an importantprocess to a halt.

Making paper smarter.

DataGlyphs contain encrypted information that tells the scanner what the document

is, where the document should be stored, how it should beindexed, who can access it, etc. It’s paper that knows whereit’s going when it reaches the digital world.
