In Memoriam KERBIS

In loving memory of Paul, husband, father and grandfather, who passed away August 5th, 2006.

He never looked for praises. He was never one to boast.

He just went on quietly working For the ones he loved the most.

His dreams were seldom spoken. His wants were very few,

And most of the time his worries Went unspoken too.

He was there… a firm foundation Through all our storms of life.

A sturdy hand to hold on to In times of stress and strife.

A true friend we could turn to When times were good or bad. One of our greatest blessings

The man I called my husband and The kids called their Dad.

Missing you always,

and forgetting you never. Love forever, Myrna, Scott, Karen, and families.

There are no 7 wonders in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.

Everyone smiles in the same language.

Your local Lions Club had great fun on

the weekend of Pound, Pail and Pad-dle. There was a Lions Float in the parade, the Duck Race at the pool and the Bale Rolling Contest at the track. The winners of the Duck Race were Ryan, Lindsay and Alex Behrman from Brandon, Tara Wilkinson from Wawanesa and Len Dobreen from Minne-dosa. The Lions want to thank the Wawanesa Pool staff for their help with this project. The Bale Rolling contest had few en-tries but many observing and wondering how it worked. The bale was rolled around a set

course. Timers measured how long this took. The winning team took home the monetary prize. Watch for this competition to come again next year with some changes to make it a bit easier. You may want to en-ter!! July meat draw was a lot of fun. One customer purchased a strip of 3 tickets on one of the meat draws and won on all three of the numbers! Next meat draw is set for August 18. Don't forget that Chase the Ace continues all through out the summer on Friday evenings between 6 and 7 pm.

It was suggested that in lieu of news, perhaps a picture of the Flag in the Circle Bed at the Commu-nity Garden would suffice as a report! It is beautiful!!! The whole area testifies to all the hard work this group undertakes on behalf of the village. Thanks for the hours and hours of faithful plan-ning, planting and preci-sion….the result - pano-rama!!!

Congratulations to Michelle and Devan Bradley on their wedding which was held July 15 at St. Paul’s. Thank you to the 2 Chris's, (Rev Chris Arthur and Rev Chris Evetts) for the lovely service. It was wonderful to host such an event at St. Paul’s. Thanks to the ladies for giving the little church a good cleaning before the event. Service times will continue to be the First and Third Sundays of the month to allow our new rector time to settle in. Of course there is always an exception to the above! On Sunday July 30 the new parish will gather at St. Agnes for a joint service at 11:00 am. Following the Service, Rev. Chris and his wife Audrey will host a pot-luck at the rectory. All are welcome to at-tend. St Paul’s will be looking for a musi-cian in the fall as we have to say goodbye to Ali who will be moving.
