Dear friends,

Happy Easter to all of you! I hope that God blessed you, your family and friends with Christ’s Easter joy and peace. It was wonderful to see so many of you.

Our parish had a beautiful Lent, Holy Week and Sacred Triduum. The celebration of these seasons would not have happened except for the dedication, generosity and hard

work of so many parishioners. That’s why I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all those who actively planned and helped to celebrate Lent, Holy Week and the Sacred Triduum.

I especially want to thank our parish rectory staff— Tony Gammariello (business manager), Gloria Balandran (receptionist), Carmen Gonzalez (office manager), and Penny Liberatore; our Liturgy Committee; Sandi Lemos and her incredible RCIA team; Paula Wirtz and her amazing environment committee; Clare Delto, Belen Quezada, Amanda Dobrucki and our outstanding choirs—adult and children; the organists and other musicians; the Hispanic Ministry; Anthony Rodriguez and all our Altar Servers; David Brown, the Master of Ceremonies; Tony Delgado and the lectors; George and Tony Lemos and all the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist; Cliff Wirtz and the ushers; Victor and Maria Yap (floral arrangements); our parish plant manager Norm Ouellette and our gardener/assistant plant manager Don Runyon; our Deacons—Pete, Ed, Terry, Chris, and Louis; and my brother priests—Fr. Jim, Fr. John and Fr. Gregorio. Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Libia Perez who has served as our Hispanic Coordinator for more than 13 years. These past couple of years, she has suffered some serious health problems. Her doctor advised her to retire. We are so grateful for everything she has done for our parish and especially our Hispanic Community. We will miss her greatly. We wish her good health and God’s blessings.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Joseph Shea

R.C.I.A. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Becoming Catholic We invite all adults interested in becoming Catholic, and Baptized Catholics who need both the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation, to join us on a Journey of Faith in the R.C.I.A. Process. We know many of you come to Mass with your families and are hesitant to take that first step. Our St. Rose of Lima R.C.I.A Team provides a welcoming environment where the Teachings of the Church are presented and your questions answered. We bring you on a Faith Journey with the Catholic Church; its beliefs, traditions, history and worship, and incorporate you into its life with Christ today. Inquiry sessions are open. For more information, please call the Faith Formation office at 526-5513.

Adult Faith Formation • Do you want to have a faith-filled discussion with

other Catholics about the things that matter in life?

• Do you want to learn more about your Catholic Faith, but aren’t sure where to start?

• Do you want to lead a more fulfilling prayer life, but don’t quite know how to begin?

• Do you desire to live a life of discipleship, but don’t know exactly what that means?

Then come and join us for Adult Faith Formation EVERY Wednesday evening from 7:30 – 9:00 pm in Room 9 of the School. Come as you are, and when you can, all are welcome. This is on-going adult Catechesis; no need to register or sign-up, there is no cost, and you do not have to attend every session. For more information call the Office of Faith Formation at 526-5513.

Did you Know?

How do you prepare to leave your kids at a party? It can be difficult for parents to gauge when they should stay at or leave another child’s birthday party. Once kids reach a certain age, they may no longer want their parents tagging along with them, but others may have fears about being on their own. Find out what activities are planned – will the kids be staying in one location or are they going multiple places? Who is the adult in charge? Assess your child’s readiness – does he or she understand the rules?
