DEFINITION

Travel awareness and Mobility management activities are ”Soft Policy” approaches.

They can be used as independent activities but also together with ”Hard policies” like infrastructure investments.

Here it can maximise the benefits of the investments.

DEFINITION MOBILITY MANAGEMENT

Mobility Management is primarily a demand-oriented approach to passenger and freight transport that involves new partnerships and a set of tools to support and encourage a change of attitude and behaviour towards sustainable modes of transport.

These tools are usually based on information and organisation, co-

ordination and require promotion.

OBJECTIVES OF MM + TA•to encourage a change of attitude and behaviour towards greater use of sustainable transport modes, i. e. pt, walking, cycling and intermodal combinations

•to improve (sustainable) access for all people and organisations by strengthening the conditions for sustainable modes

•to satisfy mobility needs via a more efficient and integrated use of (existing) transport and land use infrastructure

•to satisfy mobility needs via a more efficient and integrated use of (existing) transport and land use infrastructure

•to reduce traffic (growth) by limiting the number, length and need of motorised vehicle trips

•to improve co-operation between transport modes and facilitate the interconnection and inter-operability of existing transport networks

•to increase the economic efficiency of the entire transport system

•To realize the context between hard policies and soft policies and to see the value and impact of Travel AwAreness and Mobility Management

•To realize transport problems on site level and to define these problems

•To set up an analysis and implementation programme for these sites and situations

•To get knowledge on good / best practise case studies

•To find out possible fields of activities for each of you

•Advertising of tenders for transport related awareness campaigns and guidance of the contractors of the tender
