SimWalk directly integrates CAD files (.dxf), one level or multi-level scenarios.
SimDraw modul provides an integrated CAD tool in SimWalk to change and adapt CAD files.
STEP 1: Import of simulation plan
STEP 2: Model creation and definition of passenger types
Creation of the spatial model and operations (escalators, stairs, elevators etc.)
Definition of passenger routes (Start-, wait and exit areas)
Selection of passenger types (e.g. elderly, business people, disabled etc.)

STEP 2: Definition of passenger types with profiles
SimWalk PRO integrates predefined passenger profiles, delivering easy definition and simulation of passenger types
In addition, optional „Pedestrian Database“ modul includes data, formulas and tables of the most important research

STEP 3: Conducting simulation experiments
Simulation studies may be conducted directly in different visualization modes or without visualization in faster batch mode
Integrated CAD-Tool SimDraw allows fast changes of simulation layouts between simulation experiments

STEP 4: Analysis of simulation results
SimWalk simulation results are stored in Access database and can be analyzed using integrated analysis tools or with SQL queries
Numerical results may be exported to Excel or analyzed in any other statistics software.
Simulation results maybe visualized as
tables, bar charts, videos or snapshots in 2D or 3D

4. Object based modeling
Modeling with SimWalk is based on generic graphical objects that allow broad flexibility in creating new and using predefined objects
For example, pedestrian paths are modeled with start-, wait and exit
objects and connections or processors with stair, escalator, elevator, gates or turnstile objects
Object properties can be adjusted
based on „capacity“, „frequency“,
„delay“, „speed reduction“ or „utilization time“.

1) 3D virtual worlds can be created with any 3D Software (e.g. 3ds max) and exported in VRML 97 format
