Bicycles became popular in Victorian times.

During the 1870s the penny-farthing bicycle could be seen on the streets. It was expensive, uncomfortable and dangerous to ride.

This vehicle was made by Henry Sturmey in England in 1900.

It worked but it was the only one ever made.

It’s now in the Transport Museum in Hull.
