The City of Rustenburg will off er visitors and residents safe and easily accessible public transport during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, ensuring that the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, the FIFA Fan Fest™ and the public viewing areas are adequately served.

Event-related public transport will be added to the regular public transport system i.e. a stadium shutt le to the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and Park and Ride services.

9. The City of Rustenburg Stadium Match Shutt le Services

Shutt le services to the stadium will be provided from the Rustenburg Rail Stati on and the various Park & Ride Sites.

The service from Rustenburg Rail Stati on will operate from the stati on, past Olympia Park, to the stadium. Shutt le services will operate from the following Park & Ride sites to the Stadium: • R104 South Site. This site is located

conveniently to the south of the R104 close to the N4 intersecti on with the R104. The site will be supported by the R104 North which will cater for possible

overfl ow of vehicles from the R104 south site.

• Phokeng North and Eastern sites which are located in closer proximity to the Royal Bafokeng stadium

• Olympia Stadium located on Nelson Mandela Drive and will be served by the shutt le services from the Rail Stati on.

Park & Walk sites:The Bafokeng High School is located to the south of the Stadium and within walking distance. The area in front of the school to be used for parking of vehicles, with spectators then walking to the stadium.

Event Venue PlansCBD Wide Area There is currently a public transport hub (bus and taxi) at the intersecti on of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo Streets at the northern end of the CBD. This facility is expected to provide a service between the CBD and the Royal Bafokeng stadium.

Fan Park Area The FIFA Fan Park will be located Field College, west of the Rustenburg CBD area. The Fan Park is also located within walking distance from both Olympia Park and the existi ng taxi rank in the CBD area.
