Next Week… In Language Arts we will read one-syllable, learn words associated with the calendar, identify & sort common words in basic categories, and use pictures and context to make predictions about story content. In Math, we will be arranging, analyzing, & drawing sequences or quantities of 1 more, ordering quantities from 10 to 1 & matching numerals, and counting down from 10 to 1 by stating 1 less than a given number.

Reading Book Next week’s reading book from the Harcourt Reading series is called, “My Pig.”

Sight Word Our sight words for this week are my & can. Letter of the Week Consonant Cc will be introduced this week.

Show & Tell Please help your child find something that is related to our APPLE/FALL theme or that begins with the letter /Cc/.

Cromer News…Book It! Program The Book It! Program is in full swing! See your child’s book bag (Ziploc bag) for information about the program… essentially if your child reads 10 books and “records” it onto the Reading Log, he/she will receive a free pizza certificate to Pizza Hut for every 10 books read. Limit 1 pizza per month! Books will be coming home in a Ziploc (1 per day) for you to read with your child…Our weekly readers also count !^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Parent/Teacher Conferences Attached to this newsletter is a sign-up sheet with for Parent/ Teacher Conferences. Please choose 3 different times/days that work best with your schedule. My conferences will be held on October 10th & 11th. Thank you. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Autumn Hike @ Veit Springs All of the Kindergarten classes are planning to go on a field trip to Veit Springs (SF Peaks) for an Autumn hike on Tuesday, September 27th @ 9:00-2:00. All parents are welcome to come. The bus may be full so if you are willing to drive behind the bus, let me know.

Classroom News…Snack Calendar There will be a new snack calendar for October this Friday found in your child’s Friday Folder…Thank you!

Family Pumpkin Activity Included in your child’s Friday Folder will be a Fall Holiday activity for you to complete and return as soon as it is finished so that I can put it up on our bulletin board in the hallway. Instructions will be attached to the orange paper. Have fun and be creative!!
