Registro Italiano Veicoli Storici
Home page:“The Italian legislation in the field of historic vehicles over the
years has allowed the formation of a de facto oligopoly, where a few private associations have arrogated the right to distribute the benefits to the preservation of historic vehicles, turning a passion of many a privilege granted just a few. The Rivs, strong ten-year experience in this field, aims to provide all the necessary tools to disrupt this oligopoly and address the various issues relating to the historic motor, with the intention of broadening the base of the fans and the ability of each to preserve the their vehicles. For this reason, the Registry has decided to turn most of its energy to the legal, financial and insurance issues that are the most controversial for the fans.”

ANF ASI made an OBJECTION: RIVS is fragmenting the movement, it is a business entity
General Committee is NOT recommending the admission of this organization since it is mostly a business oriented alliance far from the FIVA spirit and they would fragment the movement

Portugal - In 2009 ACP Classicos, the Historic Section of the Portuguese Autoclub submitted an application for FIVA membership which was approved at that time.
Our ANF CPAA objected to the application saying ACP Classicos was already a member to FIVA through a newly established federation FPVA. ACP Classicos explained that FPVA is not a member of FIVA let alone not the ANF and ACP Classicos could not be a member in CPAA as CPAA is only a club, not a federation.
The General Assembly gave 1 year to CPAA to transfer the ANF status to the federation, but the federation was not properly established so the process stretched on and on.
An application renewal was presented by president Mr. Carlos Barbosa for FPVA / ACP Classicos. They put forward an application and reported an agreement among clubs about a rotation in the FPVA presidency. ACP Classicos claims to have 3959 active members with more than 500 vehicles and as the biggest club wishes to be member of his own right.
Saudi Arabia - The Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (www.SAMF.gov.sa) is a typical general motoring and sporting organization. There are allegedly thousands of classic vehicles at private collectors, just 300 presented on the latest classic car show. The Federation was established in 2006, is affiliated with FIA and FIM, and is presided by HRH Prince Sultan Bin Bandar Al Faisal. Their events include classic car circuit racing cross-country SUV rallies and drag racing. They claim to have 1200 members.
