Political decision in July 2012•Closure of Doel 1&2 after 40 years of operation in 2015•Life extension (10 more years) of Tihange 1 until 2025•Confirmation of the closure of
– Doel 3 / Tihange 2 after 40 years in 2022 / 2023– Doel 4 / Tihange 3 after 40 years in 2025
Flaws indications in the RPV of Doel 3 & Tihange 2•Discovery in July 2012•JCO provided at the end of November 2012 but incomplete.•A lot of uncertainties, therefore additional studies are needed before possible restart of the two units

In addition to the permanent regulatory functions (inspection, licensing, review & assesment, emergency preparedness, international,…):•3rd decennial reevaluation of the last 4 units•LTO for Tihange 1 from 40 to 50 years
– Studies completed– 80 implementation projects
•Action Plan resulting from the Stress tests NPP (BEST)•Stress tests for the other nuclear installations (BESTA)•Prelicensing for a low activity waste disposal facility•Development of the regulatory context for a new type of reactor called MYRRHA (Multi-purpose Hybrid Research Reactor for High-Tech Applications)

Status in the area of human resources
Competence Management is embedded in IMS/QMS
Audit of recertification in October 2012 after 3 years:•Reshuffling of processes related to competence management.•All processes and activities are included in A08, i.e. in HRM level 1 process.•Flow chart of A08 is revised.
Competence gap analysis is now included.
