Today’s speaker is: Nick Hunt He grew up in Garnett, a very small rural town in southern

Hampton County. He graduated from Estill High School. He received a degree in Risk & Insurance

from Florida State University in 1969. He is married to Rosemary Richardson Hunt. He served in the

U.S. Air Force from 1969 until starting his insurance career in Charleston, SC, in 1974. In 1975 he moved

to Beaufort to manage Peoples Insurance Agency. He owned or managed Peoples for 36 years. He

joined Lowcountry Insurance Services in a sales capacity in 2011. His hobbies are most anything to do

with nature and travel. He and his wife, Rosemary (Spanish instructor at TCL), are very active in Ro-

tary’s Youth Exchange program and have hosted 18 foreign exchange students since 1981. Nick and

Rosemary speak Spanish and lived in Spain from 1972-74. Since 1974 they have often travelled in South

America (Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia). Nick first visited two major tributaries (the

Napo & Negro Rivers) to the Amazon in eastern Ecuador in 1996. He returned to visit the Amazon itself

in 2012 while leading a GSE team from our district to northern Peru. Again in August, 2015, Nick and

Rosemary spent another week on the Amazon River in Iquitos, Peru. Having grown up in the Savannah

river swamps of Hampton County, he loves the jungle, which is simply a tropical swamp ecosystem.

or the web page for interesting/funny photos and

posts: Charlotte challenges all members to sell or

adopt a minimum of 5 crabs.

Adoption forms available at meetings on Friday.

Alzheimer’s Family Service of Greater Beaufort is holding their Celebration of Wreaths on

April 8-9 with reception on April 8, $25 per ticket. Our club is sponsoring a wreath and

hope members will sponsor or make wreaths in your favorite theme for charitable dona-

tion of $75! Call 843-263-2062 or www.afsgb.org for more information.

Can anyone name all

the board members and
