6) SELECTION CRITERIA

a) Relevance to WWF-Malaysia Strategy: Topic and content of the project aligned to the purpose of the

Scheme and contribute to WWF-Malaysia Strategy 2012-2020 directly or indirectly.

b) Project rationale: The project has a clearly articulated rationale (problem analysis) that demonstrates

the need for the work.

c) Quality of project design and planning: Potential impacts and outcomes are clearly defined and

achievable; a clear and realistic work plan is formulated.

d) Competency of applicant: The applicant possesses skills that are required for project implementation.

e) Suitability of budget: Budget requested is suitable, efficient and reasonable.

f) Innovation: The project uses innovative approaches and initiatives in conservation and natural

resource management.

7) ADDITIONAL GRANT FROM YOUTH ACTION GRANT (YAG) BY myHarapan

In 2016, myHarapan - the Youth Trust Foundation2 will complement WWF-Malaysia’s effort in supporting

conservation by youth, through providing additional funding to youth-initiated social project / enterprise.

myHarapan's Youth Action Grant (YAG) is a conditional grant valued at anything between RM500 and

RM15,000. Social Enterprise Ventures (SEV)3, which is the funding arm of myHarapan, will be responsible for

the granting process for eligible applicants. Interested applicant can select the option in the CPS application

form. The same application form will be forwarded to myHarapan for its evaluation. Note that myHarapan has

its own selection process and may require additional information and effort from the applicant.

ELIGIBILITY

The project is owned by the Malaysian youths (aged between 18 and 30).

The project has a long-term plan with measurable social impact.

The project impacts one or more groups of beneficiaries in need (urgency of the problem must be

clearly articulated).

The project includes these priority aspects: social development, poverty alleviation and income

generation.

There must be a plan to convert the project to a social enterprise OR hand it over to the targeted

community at some point.
