No limits - Everyone Is An Artist Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey is to represent the United Kingdom. The Archdeacon of Maidstone, Stephen Taylor, made an approach to the Academy to be involved in this major project. This will involve us working with students from Leipzig in Germany and Sarajevo in Bosnia. It is an international cultural exchange for reconciliation and understanding among motions. Art, music, drama, dance and media departments are involved. Our Academy has facilities that are second to none to support this project. We also hope to involve all the island primary schools in this project. Oasis our sponsors are very community minded and this work will support their vision for the Isle of Sheppey. The project has the blessing of Swale Borough Council and they are active partners in the venture. We hope this will help our Academy build bridges with our primary schools and our wider community. It is a project to give the island some sense of pride and to promote it. A production will take place in the west site theatre in June. Then, in October, all three areas - Sheppey, Leipzig and Sarajevo- will meet in Bosnia and then on Sheppey. This will give an opportunity for students form the three countries to work together. 2. Football and Peace Project This is the second WW1 project we are involved in. It is based around the Christmas Truce of 1914 when the troops from Britain and Germany played football rather than fight. This project involves our History, P.E. and Drama Departments. We have students visiting Kent History Centre and Maidstone Museum in February to work on this. The end product for this work will be on Friday April 25 th at Maidstone United F.C. On that day the Academy will be one of only six schools invited to display. We will be taking a Drama group, sports people and History students to display their work. World War One Commemoration

The Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey is involved in three projects for this event.

1. No limits - Everyone Is An Artist

Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey is to represent the United Kingdom. The Archdeacon of

Maidstone, Stephen Taylor, made an approach to the Academy to be involved in this major

project. This will involve us working with students from Leipzig in Germany and Sarajevo in

Bosnia. It is an international cultural exchange for reconciliation and understanding among

motions. Art, music, drama, dance and media departments are involved. Our Academy has

facilities that are second to none to support this project. We also hope to involve all the

island primary schools in this project. Oasis our sponsors are very community minded and

this work will support their vision for the Isle of Sheppey.

The project has the blessing of Swale Borough Council and they are active partners in the

venture. We hope this will help our Academy build bridges with our primary schools and our

wider community. It is a project to give the island some sense of pride and to promote it.

A production will take place in the west site theatre in June. Then, in October, all three areas

- Sheppey, Leipzig and Sarajevo- will meet in Bosnia and then on Sheppey. This will give an

opportunity for students form the three countries to work together.

2. Football and Peace Project

This is the second WW1 project we are involved in. It is based around the Christmas Truce

of 1914 when the troops from Britain and Germany played football rather than fight. This

project involves our History, P.E. and Drama Departments. We have students visiting Kent

History Centre and Maidstone Museum in February to work on this. The end product for this

work will be on Friday April 25th at Maidstone United F.C. On that day the Academy will be

one of only six schools invited to display. We will be taking a Drama group, sports people

and History students to display their work.
