    The Life of Making Choices

Choices are a part of everyones daily life. You make the choice to get up and go to

school, to do your homework and turn it in on time, the choice to follow the rules and laws, and

the choice to making the right or wrong decisions. The choices I have made throughout my life

have made me the person I am today and I would not change anything. The bad choices you

make in life are the obstacles that you learn from. Everyone makes bad choices and with those

bad choices people learn more about themselves and more about life. After high school I had a

wide variety of choices. I could of stayed home and do nothing, I could of gotten a full time job

and not go to school, I could of gone to a two year college and gotten an associates degree, or I

could have moved to another state and started college and a whole new life. When I thought of

these choices I could have made only one appealed to the most me and that was attending a four

university and working a full time job.

When choosing a college, I knew that I wanted to go to a school that I was comfortable at

and in a location that has many options of things to do. My dream school, College of Charleston,

had everything I wanted and more. It had the history, the city, the beach, and the picturesque

views that where to die for whether you were looking north, east, south, or west. Unfortunately,

my life took sudden changes and it began to change where I wanted to attend college and what I

wanted to do. I decided to tour the campus of UNCC and when I did, I had that feeling of Oh

my gosh, I am going to college and this is exactly what I want if my school was not the College

of Charleston. I felt that UNCC had the best programs for my intended major and it had that

diversity that I was longing for. It was also close to my family so that I could go home once a

week and not have to travel far distances. UNCC was indeed the best choice for me. UNCC is in

a great expanding city and the campus is absolutely beautiful. I was accepted into Hawaii Pacific

and UNCG but I made, what I thought was the best choice for me and that was going to UNCC.

As of right now, I do not regret the choice that I made and I do not think I could be at a better

    educational institution.

How did I get to this point in my life? In order to get into college I had to do well in high

school. So in ninth grade as a fourteen year old I made the choice to focus on school so that I can

make a good life for myself. With the choices I made as a teenager I picked up many personality

traits like being committed, responsible, organized, and to be an ambitious student/ young adult.

Throughout school, I chose to study, listen during class, and to get my work done instead of

procrastinating and going out to party. I choose to be dedicated to school. I have always been

driven to make the choice to be the first person in my family to attend a four year university, get

a degree, and to hopefully get a good job afterwards. I choose to stay up and take on the stress of

studying for the SAT and to apply for college. Around this time last year I had a lot of major

family issues going on but I still chose to make going to college an effort and to make a better

    life for myself.

Overall, choices are a major part of everyones life decisions. The choices one person

makes could affect their life in a positive or negative way but one thing we have to take out of it

is the life lesson and the experience. Choosing to go to UNCC is one of the best choices I have

ever made. I am looking forward to the next few years attending the school and for the choices

that UNCC has got offer me.
