CHALLENGEDelivering innovative metal cutting ideas and getting rid of old style machining is a great challenge. The WT100, with its state of the art construction and software, responds to market needs when it comes to process integration, higher productivity and fl exibility.
EFFICIENCYAs an alternative to getting higher chip removal rates with more cutting power, multi-tasking is faster and more effi cient. Through technological advances in cutting tools, machining effi ciency, high rotation speeds and feed rates, powerful machining is no longer limited to larger machines with high power and large tools, but rather attainable with compact machines such as the WT100.
SPEEDSpeed and competitiveness have been driving technological advances throughout centuries. Achieving higher speed in metal cutting, does not necessarily mean making more chip removal, which requires high power and bigger tools. Speed may also be achieved through eliminating waste, and making process rationalization. Additionally, The WT100 with its up to 40m/min rapid feed rates, 6000 min-1 max spindle speed, and servo-driven turrets is among the fastest machines in its class.

NT Nurse is original software developed by Nakamura-Tome to provide the machine operator with a user-friendly environment for best production results. Among NT Nurse features is the Load Monitor for monitoring tool breakage and tool wear, the Soft Work-Pusher for accurate parts transfer, Tool Life management, Turret head check for preventing program/ head designation errors, as well as several other features that help prevent errors and facilitate production.
Chuck work with irregular shapes such as forgings and castings can be automatically loaded and positioned in the machine without the need for expansive positioning jigs or fi xtures. Without this feature, chucks with positioning pins and work stocker pallet engineering fi xtures are necessary, requiring more costs and inventory as well as longer set-up times.
This feature minimizes damage to the machine in case of collision caused by a programming error. When servo drive overload for any of the machine axes (X, Z, Y, C, and B) is detected, movement direction
is reversed within 8 milliseconds mage is avoided.
