The University of Exeter

• Schools of Art and Science were founded in Exeter in 1851. These were the first steps towards establishing the University of Exeter in 1955.

• The University of Exeter combines world class research with excellent student satisfaction. It is a member of the Russell Group of leading research-intensive universities.

• 21,273 students from more than 130 different countries. Its success is built on a strong partnership with its students and a clear focus on high performance.

• Exeter was named The Times Sports University of the Year 2015-16 and was also voted the Sunday Times University of the Year 2012/13. It is ranked amongst the UK’s top 10 universities in the Higher Education league tables.

The University of Exeter

Chad Crossman, Chief Architect:With almost 30 years’ industry experience, Chad has a deep understanding of all areas of IT and has worked with many integration platforms in the past. Taking a holistic view of the university’s strategic goals, Chad realised the potential of the WSO2 platform in facilitating the operationalisation of strategy.

Realising this would be a steep learning curve for the university, Chad understood that the modular design of the WSO2 platform was the perfect way to allow the University of Exeter to progressively exploit the functionality available while uplifting the in-house skills.

Jamie Carter, Solution Architect:With several successful implementations of complex projects already under his belt, Jamie was not fazed by the prospect of using a new technology on the most strategic project in the university’s portfolio. Jamie’s attention to detail allowed him to design and deliver an elegant solution which provides seamless integration between new and legacy systems without sacrificing functionality.

Jamie foresees extensive use of the WSO2 platform in future solution with multiple, disparate data sources across business domains.
