WHO SHOULD ATTEND• We strongly recommend that students hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits or
have an equivalent level of knowledge before starting Level 3. If needed, we will happilyassess your level by means of a multiple choice questionaire.
• It is the perfect qualification for wine professionals, who need to consolidate their knowledgeand skills with an official, well-structured set of studies.
• Wine professionals with an international career who wish to hold a broadly-recognizedqualification, required for positions world-wide.
• Amateurs who wish to broaden their knowledge and enjoy tasting a wide selection of international wines.
• Professionals from different sectors who need to acquire in-depth knowledge in wine or wishto start a career in the wine industry.
EXAMExam papers are delivered to us from WSET in London and they are sent back for correction. In order to obtain the “WSET Level 3 Award in Wines”, candidates are required to pass the following papers:• 50-question multiple-choice paper. • 4 short paragraph questions.• Practical tasting examination of 2 wines, following the WSET® LEVEL 3 SYSTEMATIC
APPROACH TO TASTING.
TEACHERSCourses are taught by members of The Wine Studio team, comprised of wine sectorprofessionals who are also accedited by the WSET and who are overseen by Elisa Errea.
ENROLMENT AND CONDITIONSEnrolment is done through our website www.thewinestudio.es, where you can also find the termsand conditions for cancellation and refunds, as well as exam conditions. Once a student hasenroled, they will be sent the WSET Level 3 textbook and study guide by post.
SUBSIDIESAll WSET courses fulfil the conditions required by Fundae (Fundación Estatal) for work trainingpurposes.

COURSE OBJECTIVESUpon completing the course, students will be able to:
• Explain the key factors in the production of the principal wines of the world and describe how these influence wine style, quality and price.
• Describe in detail the characteristics of the principal wines of the world as well as their commercial importance in the market.
• Use the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting® in order to be able to identify and assess the characteristics, quality and commercial value of the principal wines of the world. Tasting is a fundamental part of this course. During the course, over 70 wines from all over the world will be tasted and described.
• Identify and apply the principles of food and wine pairing to the main wine styles available.• Identify and explain legal, social, and health issues relating to the consumption of wine.• Provide relevant information and advice to customers, staff or other wine sector professionals
about the principal wines of the world.
INDIVIDUAL STUDYIt is recommended that a student should allocate a minimum of 100 hours of study to successfully complete the full programme, roughly 60 of which will need to be completed outside the classroom as individual study.
QUALIFICATIONSuccessful candidates will obtain the qualification: “WSET Level 3 Award in Wines”, which entitles them to use the logo and title “WSET Certified Level 3 in Wines”.
The “WSET Level 3 Award in Wines” is required to gain access to the WSET Level 4, Diploma in Wines. The Diploma is considered in turn as the gateway for those seeking to enter the Master of Wine programme.
