Dennis Bauer, 2009-10 WSA President Looking back at the messages that I have written, I found two things in common. One was how fast time goes by and the other was hoping you are not forgetting to have fun. When I first took office, I had visions on how we could increase member- ship by getting the message out on the value of the association member- ship, the vision of a tighter link with the International Sign Association due to my involvement in that association, visions of being invited into other shops to help in their operations and to help solve some prob- lem they have, visions of greater attendance at our confer- ences, visions of an open forum and relaxed discussion at our board meetings with sharing problems, and as a group, coming up with solutions we all benefit from. Also, a vision of a design group forming from their extreme common interests and pride which is displayed each year with the design contest being part of our fall conference awards. We have, with the hard work of our board along with WAM, achieved getting the message out to our members and others around our industry. The website gave out information, and I know my successor will focus on the same. With greater presence at the ISA conventions, I believe we have strengthened this relationship with even greater opportunity in the future. I did manage to open up some of the meetings to discuss problems and collectively came up with solutions. Designers are welcome to net- work at our events and are working towards being a rec- ognized group of professionals. My belief is this will grow more in the coming years. A Message From . . .Dennis Bauer, 2009-10 WSA President
