Later that year we went to the oldest township of the province LangaLanga, which means sun is an urban township located just outside the city of Cape Town. It is one of the countrys oldest townships and the result of the 1923 Native (Urban Areas) Act 21, which allocated the responsibility of housing the citys African population in urban areas to municipalities.

People from these two areas seldom visit each others neighborhouds, let alone engage and this type of lets call it social mobility has had the biggest impact in Cape Town.Our dreams are big and we have made inroads in working with government. A task team now sits in the Transport department and we are working to identify best ways to lower costs for the day, find an institutional home for the programme and to expand the network

But returning to the question about mobility; we have not given up and in fact have attracted a new partnership with the WWF Nedbank Green Trust which has allowed us to expand our work to carry out public campaigns. This allows us to engage in a conversation about transport and mobility on a more permanent basis (and not just during Open Streets Days).
