You need a topic where you cantake a position and defend it. Have a preliminary thesis argument, but be willing to shiftyour position as facts emerge. Stick to a topic thats limited enough to fit in 10-15pages. Dont write about something for which there may be noscholarly evidence to use or where it will be very difficult tofind.
