WP005 Swimming Pools

Preparation:

1. All surfaces to be waterproofed must be firm, clean, dry, sound and smooth. All grease, oil, wax, curing compounds, loose material, paint and any other contaminants must be removed, surfaces must be pointed flush and surface defects repaired. 2. External corners to be waterproofed must be bevelled to ensure a smooth transition of membrane from vertical to horizontal surfaces.

Installation:

1. Apply 3:1 sand and cement render mixed with CTA ProCrete diluted 1:3 with water to pool shell. The finished surface should be true, level and plumb to within a tolerance of +/- 3 mm in 3 m. ProCrete is a modified dispersion of Styrene Butadiene Copolymer emulsion, which can be used as an admixture for cement mortars used for screeding, rendering, bricklaying, pointing and repairs 2. Prime PVC and metal pipes using WPA 160. WPA 160 is a specialised solvent free primer designed for enhancing the adhesion of subsequent membranes, adhesives, toppings and decorative finishes over porous or non-porous substrates. 3. Allow render to cure for 2 days and apply two coats of Sikalastic 1K ensuring that the first coat has completely dried before the application of the second coat. A minimum dry film thickness of 2.0 mm must be achieved. Sikalastic 1K is a one component, flexible, fibre reinforced mortar, ideal for waterproofing surfaces subject to flexural strain. 4. Allow the final coat of Sikalastic 1K to cure completely and install coping tiles and tiles to pool shell using CTA Pro Premium. CTA Pro Premium is a premium quality, extremely high strength, polymer modified, flexible cement based adhesive, developed to bond most types of tiles. 5. Grout tiles with the selected colour CTA G10 grout mixed with CTA ProLastic. G10 grout is a premium, high quality, polymer modified, flexible, cement based, coloured grout for grouting most types of tiles. CTA Prolastic is a specially formulated polymer admixture used to fortify sand/cement screeds, renders and factory prepared cement based adhesives. 6. Seal all movement joints using the selected colour of Sikasil Pool.
