WoW in a nutshell

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) that puts the player directly into a fantasy world where they can engage in quests, raids, dungeons and killing other players from the opposite faction.

My role in the WoW Universe

I have identified myself as a mage in World of Warcraft, because I enjoy playing spell caster classes in RPGS. I love the mage’s spells, such as fire and ice. I can also turn my enemies into sheep, it’s a win-win.

Tanks, healers & dps: what does it mean?Everyone has a role to play in World of Warcraft that identifies themselves within a team.

Tanks take all the damage so no one gets hurt.

Healers simply keep everyone alive.

And the DPS (damage per second) kill enemies fast and effectively. This is my role in the team.

Alliance or Horde: whose side are you on?

The Alliance are the good guys and the Horde are the bad guys. I prefer to play as the bad guys since they’re usually more interesting.

My main character is a blood elf. They’re sinister, cunning and charming. So that’s how I identify myself on World of Warcraft.

Forming friendships in-game through teamwork

Many players use the software “Ventrilo” to communicate via headsets to work through a raid or dungeon.

There are also groups called “guilds” that consist of players that are friends in real life or friends in-game. It is a very social aspect of WoW that gives the opportunity to chat about real life events outside the game and the chance to form new friendships online.
