SMART GRID, SMART DEVELOPMENT
Consistently increasing due to population growth, urbanization, industrialization and technological
progress, the power requirement of our country is one of the most serious problems in the short and
long term. The parties producing, distributing and using power in this critical period are looking for
solutions for a more flexible, reliable and economical grid infrastructure through effective, loss-free
and rational use of power, integration of renewable energy resources into the system and reduction of
greenhouse gas emission. It is estimated that the problems related to power generation and
consumption will disappear in time due to the existence of information and communication
technologies and advanced technologies such as smart grids. Therefore, it is inevitable for the existing
grid systems to undergo a change in order to integrate into this system.
In our country which has 70 million water and electricity meters and 10 million natural gas meters and
which is 20th country which generates and consumes the most electricity, water administrations of
municipalities are in transition process to smart-meter system as well as electricity and gas distribution
companies.
During this period, as the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, we will be hosting the
“International Istanbul Smart Grid Congress and Fair” in Istanbul on 8th-9th May 2014. Our aim is to
help our country have a more effective, more powerful and more distinguished position in the global
platform by proceeding to the smart-meter system in accordance with the 2023 strategic vision of our
country.
Hoping that the congress will be beneficial for all participants and our country, I would like to thank in

IMPORTANT RULES
Standard – Modular Booth Application
The booth construction consisting of aluminum profiles and similar division elements,
the drawing of which is given on the side, is part of the booth participation contract. The
booths are built with aluminum timbers, vertical and melamine coated wallboards. One
wallboard is 241x98 cm, signboard is 198x67 and info desk is 98x98 cm.
One 100 Watt spot is connected to ceiling profiles in each 3 square meters for
lighting. The name and booth number of the company is written on each booth.
Extra Material and Service Sale
All materials and services that you will need before the exhibition or in the exhibition
area will be provided by the Material and Service Sale department. You can demand extra
materials and services by filling the related forms. Our department provides free-of-charge
technical support before and during the exhibition in order to facilitate and fasten up the
activities of our participants.
Extra Services and Materials
All technical equipment, materials and booth furniture are subject to specific renting
terms. All equipment belongs to the organization. Damaged or lost equipment will be billed to
participants.
Applying before the entering and settling for all extra booth services and materials,
you can take advantage of both priority and reduced prices for material supply.
Special Decorations
The booth area is delivered empty to all participants who prefer joining the exhibition with a
booth with special decoration.
The maximum length for booths with special decoration should be 4 meters.
The in-booth cleaning of special decorations is under the responsibility of the participant.
We are primarily asking all participants to leave their booths and booth areas in clean condition before Collection & Unloading.
Participants need to have their booth projects approved by the installation, planning and
organization department at least 1 month before the exhibition start date if they want to participate with a booth with special decoration.
Participants will provide the contact details of the companies which will build/decorate their
booths while sending their participant projects to the organizing company for approval.
Ceiling Heights
If you are not sure where your booth area is, please refer to the organizer.
Please remember that the ceiling is 4 meters high.
We kindly ask all participants to take general esthetic image of the exhibition into
consideration and pay attention to the remarks of the exhibition administration.

Air-Conditioning
All halls are equipped with efficient ventilation, heating and cooling systems.
Please make sure you do not block the ventilation outlet for efficient use of the system.
Settling Timing and Working Hours
During the settling process, working hours may be extended. Please contact the exhibition administration / organizer for this purpose.
All booths have to be ready and prepared by the last day of the installation process; 7th May 2014 at 06:00 pm.
