† The Call to Worship ............................................................................. 1 Chronicles 29

Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.

Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things.

In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Let us worship God.

† The Invocation (Please lift hands)

† The Confession of Faith .......................................................................Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.* The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Corporate Confession of Sin (Please kneel)

Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being; whose face is hidden from us by our sins; and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts. We confess that we have not loved you as we ought. We have neglected to glorify you in thought, word, and deed, and we have sought our own interests without reference to you. Cleanse us, we beseech you, from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with lowliness and meekness we may draw near to you, confessing our faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and our strength; through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ..............................................................Isaiah 55:6-7

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

† The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread,And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Shorter Catechism in Modern English, Question 96: Q: What is the Lord’s Supper?

A: The Lord’s Supper is a sacrament in which bread and wine are given and received as Christ directed to proclaim his death. Those who receive the Lord’s Supper in the right way

share in his body and blood with all his benefits, not physically but by faith, and become spiritually stronger and grow in grace.

Hear Us, Holy Jesus ..................................................................................... Eddleman

Jesus, Son of God, most high, who did in a manger lie, who upon the cross did die: Hear us, holy Jesus.Jesus, once an infant small, cradled in the oxen’s stall, though the God and Lord of all: Hear us, holy Jesus. Make us brave without a fear, make us happy, full of cheer, sure that thou art always near: Hear us, holy Jesus.May our thoughts be undefiled, may our words be true and mild. Make us each a holy child: Hear us, holy Jesus.

Little David, Play on Your Harp .................................................................. arr. Bailey

Little David, play on your harp, hallelu, hallelu.Little David, play on your harp, hallelu. Now David watched his father’s sheep and played his harp to help them sleep. He played his harp and sang with joy, God’s faithful child and shepherd boy. Goliath dared him to a fight while every soldier shook with fright. That giant stood so big and tall ‘til David’s slingshot made him fall. Though David grew to be a king, he loved to play his harp and sing.He played his harp and sang for joy, God’s faithful child and shepherd boy.
