Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.” MT 28:5-7

Alleluia, Allelu-ia!! The Lord is Risen! Alleluia, Alleluia!! Today we begin our celebration of Easter, the most important celebration in
our Church and in our lives. We rejoice today because of God's goodness in giving us the gift of eternal life. We now celebrate Easter for 50 days, 10 days more than Lent, because we are an Easter people, living in the hope of the Resurrection. While we acknowledge the struggle of our earthly life during the 40 days of Lent, and did so in a very profound way this year, we now cele-brate the gift of eternal life for the 50 days of Easter. We especially celebrate Easter during this coming week, which is referred to as the “Easter Octave” The Easter Octave ends next Sunday, which is commonly referred to as Di-vine Mercy Sunday. Although you all were not able to attend, we were able to baptize or re-ceive into the Church 9 new members, our RCIA candidates and catechumens.
Although they were each welcomed into the Church individually and in small groups, the power of God in the Sacraments was nevertheless present and celebrated. Please pray for these newest members of our community and their families, that the seeds of faith planted by God Himself will con-tinue to grow and blossom in the lives that they lead. At this time, all those who we hoped to receive Sacraments of Initiation this Spring (First Communion and Confir-mation) will do so at a later date to be determined once restrictions on gather-ings have been lifted, which we hope will be in the not too distant fu-ture. Please be sure to keep these can-didates in your prayers, that they re-main steadfast in their final preparation for the reception of these sacramental signs of God's Love for them.
Parish Update Many are asking how our parish is do-ing and what does the future at St. Pius X look like after Easter Sunday? As was mentioned a few weeks ago, our community is handling this crisis well thanks to our great staff, who have worked hard to keep the wheels of our
church turning. We are not suffering any acute crisis for now and we are able to continue to function on all levels in light of the limitations due to the pandemic. Many thanks to all of you for your gen-erosity and support during this time of difficulty and uncertainty, both in pray-er and financial donations. Many con-tinue to make their regular offering online or by dropping off envelopes, and we encourage you to continue to do so if you are able. Some cannot due to loss of employment or business, and we understand that. Know that our prayers are with all until our lives are returned to normal and we can gather together again as a community. In the meantime, in addition to the acts of charity and support many of you are doing for those in need, please stay connected through all of St. Pius X’s communications platforms, especially Facebook, Vimeo and our website. For now, let us enjoy this Easter season, and let the promise of eternal life fill our lives with joy regardless of what is going on in the world around us. Alle-luia, Alleluia!!

www.stpiusxchurch.org Page 5
On February 22, 1931, Jesus appeared to Sr. Maria Faustina Kow-alska delivering a wonderful message and making a special request: “Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the inscription, ‘Jesus, I trust in You!’” On another occasion, Jesus told Faustina, “I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep com-ing for graces to the
fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signa-ture: Jesus, trust in You!” The Divine Mercy Novena will begin on Good Friday, then prayed every day for nine days until the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. Materials are available at the doors to the church. You can also live stream the Divine Mercy Novena or watch previ-ously recorded videos at 12 p.m. beginning on Friday, April 10th.
