Choices for Lent... a Time for Self-denial

Forgive someone who has hurt you.

Give of your time with a phone call or a visit to someone who is sick or alone or sad.

Set aside 5 minutes each day to pray for God’s guidance in your life.

Give a person in need something you have not used in a long time.

Discover the Psalms again and memorize a favorite one.

Write a note or make a phone call to say think you to someone who has helped you in some way.

Bring cans of soup to the church to be given away.

Give a small gift to Pastor's Discretionary Fund for a special family: a police officer (lives in Randolph County) whose wife is in the HPR hospital for the third week with a serious heart condition. They have four girls in Randolph County schools.

Lent is often thought of as a time to give up something. Maybe this year... we need to add something to our lives.

May God bless you and bring you Peace.

Pastor Dana

Valentine's Day Sometimes Valentine's Day Isn't Happy

For some people, Valentine's Day is a painful reminder of a

broken relationship, the death of a loved one, a recent relocation, a chronic illness, or another life challenge. If you are going through a difficult time,

our Stephen Ministers can bring Jesus' love (God's "ultimate Valentine")

back into your life. Stephen Ministers provide confidential, one-to-one Chris-

tian care. They will meet with you privately on a weekly basis to listen, sup-

port and encourage you, to pray with and for you, and to walk with you for the duration of your struggle.

To find out more about Stephen Ministry and how you or someone you

know could be matched with a Stephen Minister contact one of our Stephen

Ministry Leaders: Rosa Allred or Peggy Johnson.

Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you!

New weekly Bible Study will begin

February 10 (1:30 & 6:00)

“24 Hours That Changed the World”

by Adam Hamilton

What a difference a day makes. You hear people say that phrase all the time. It could not be truer than when talking about the last day of Jesus’ life. In 24 Hours That Changed the World, Adam Hamilton will help you experience and understand the significance of Jesus’ suffering and death like never before. He retraces the day that

changed human history in his usual straightforward yet easy, conversational style that speaks to both long-time Christians and those who are simply curious about the story of Christ’s crucifixion.

IF:Gathering Friday evening, Feb. 5

and Saturday Feb.6 at The Cetwick in Asheboro

You are invited to join us as we unite across generations, de-nominations, and cultures to set our eyes on Jesus and to wrestle with the question, “What IF we all lived like Jesus?” If you haven’t already, sign up to join this free event https://ifgathering.com/localgatherings/ifrandolph-county/. See Carolyn Lawrence 963-0538 or [email protected] for details.

viewing afterward)
