Call to Confession

Leader: God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Trusting in God’s overflowing grace, let us confess our sin.

Prayer of Confession All: Lord, you know who we are. You know everything we have done. We thirst for things that will never satisfy us. We commit ourselves to things that will never last. We worship things that will never bring salvation. Still, you offer us the gift of living water. Still, you offer us the gift of eternal life. Forgive us, O lord, and give us this living water, so that we may never thirst again.

Silent Prayers of Confession and Assurance of Pardon Leader: This is the good news of God’s grace: People: Though we were sinners, Christ died for us.Though we were enemies of God, God loved us.Once we were lost and dead — now Christ has become our salvation.Leader: Friends, believe this good news: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. All: Thanks be to God.

Moments with the Children Following the moments with children and youth, children kindergarten through grade 5 are invited to participate in Children’s Church located in room 107. The children’s worship leaders will bring the children back to the narthex where you may pick them up after leaving the sanctuary. A nursery is available in room 109/111 for younger children.

Children and WorshipWe value children and

welcome all ages into the life of the church. We believe that children are gifts from God and are vital to our family of faith. Children’s worship packets are available on the table as you enter the sanctuary. These packets include activities directly related to the theme of the day. If you cannot locate a packet, please ask an usher.

During the worship service we invite children and youth to come forward for the “Children’s Moments.” Children may come forward or not; we celebrate their choice. Children learn to be disciples by participating in a loving and caring community of faith.

We provide a unique age appropriate children’s worship with education time immediately following the Children’s Moments. Children are led to “Children’s Church” which is located in room 107. Children K - 5th grades are welcome to attend. We encourage parents to come visit the children’s worship room.

A nursery is available for children, birth to kindergarten. It is located on the elevator side first floor in rooms 109 and 111. The nursery staff is employed by Pine Shores. If your child becomes uncomfortable in worship, there is a live feed in the narthex with both sound and video.

A committee is being formed at Pine Shores Presbyterian Church to look at the carbon footprint of this church and what we might be able to do to decrease it. We believe God has charged us as Christians to care for this earth. Making our church more green is a step in that direction. If you are interested in being a part of this group, contact Ken Visser at 941-927-4797 or (email: [email protected]).

Recognized as two of the central figures in the development of the early Christian Church, the class with be both biographical (the leaders are history teachers, after all!) and theological in its focus. Come join them in Room 209 in the Sanctuary Building to learn more about the amazing stores of Jesus’ most trusted disciples!

Lent Contemplative Worship Services: On Wednesdays, March 18th, 25th, April 1st and 8th, we will gather in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. for an evening worship service with scripture readings, music, prayer, lighting of candles, communion and a time of quiet reflection.

SURE Nehemiah’s Action Assembly is Monday, March 23rd, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. We hope you will come and be a part of this vital justice

ministry as we heed the words of the prophet Micah, “to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Our goal is to have at least 50 folks from Pine Shores at the Assembly. If you would like more information or a ride contact either Paul

Reiter, Ken Junkins or Karen Wismer.

Thank you to everyone who supported Pine Shores Youth last weekend at our Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser. We were able to raise $2,597 which will go towards our summer trips and conferences. Our winning team was the Connections Music Team. Abbie Robinson’s white chicken chili was this year’s favorite! Thank you again to all the teams that participated, those who cooked their chili, and for everyone who attended the event.
