Why is Worldwide becoming a no carbon print provider important?

We Care about those around us.Worldwide has had a strong commitment over many years to charity organisations such as Teen Challenge and Project Futures and environmental programs like our use of Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) paper and recycled products

Over many years Worldwide has taken the issues of social and environmental responsibility seriously and we continue to support and raise the awareness of such issues through positive actions such as our move to become a no carbon print provider.

Worldwide Online Printing is proud to become one of Australia’s first no CO2 Certified print providers.

We take real and positive action

As part of our no carbon accreditation we are pleased to support two important projects that not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but make a real difference to the lives of people in India and Cambodia.

The first project aims to increase the efficiencies of Milk Food Ltd based in the Punjab and Uttar Pradesh region of India.

By contributing funding for a new co-generation power unit to supplement power from the main power grid, we help to reduce the reliance on local coal generated power. Our contribution is also helping to install a new boiler for steam generation at the plant that will use previously discarded agricultural waste to fire the new boiler unit. This also alleviates the need to burn local wood to fire the boiler, and the release of methane from the agricultural waste.

The second project, based in Cambodia aims to improve the living standards of people living in the region by developing a more efficient home cooking stove.

The benefits of this initiative will have a direct impact of the living conditions of the local people including relieving the burden on women and children to gather fire wood in a countryside littered with more than six million landmines, where over 200 people are killed or maimed each year. This in turn will allow children more time to attend schools to receive better education. In addition this project will also have a direct impact on illnesses caused by the burning of traditional wood fuel indoors and from an emissions abatement perspective, will reduce deforestation and environmental degradation caused by the informal logging of large quantities of wood.
