Debbie Goffin, Head of Marketing, Premier Holidays Contact Westbrook Milton Road Cambridge CB4 1YG Phone: 01223 516252 Fax: 01223 516987 Email: [email protected] Overview A marketing proposal for funds was presented at Pow Wow and has since been declined due to 2003 budget limitations. The funding was to support Georgia in the Deep South advertising campaign which Premier would match dollar for dollar. Each state participating would get a two-page spread including a map, itinerary, and hotels. Also, brochures would be mailed to 10,000-15,000 of their prospects that have shown past interest in the Deep South. A total of $5,500 was requested for product support. Georgia currently has 1 page in 2003 brochure which features Radisson Atlanta Northlake and Planters Inn in Savannah. GDITT decided not to participate in marketing plans this year. Debbie has offered GDITT to participate in mail outs but will need a quick response. BH will consider budgets and see if there is any spare money. Premier uses Tourco as a receptive operator. Call Objective Discuss how we can work together next year – possibly secure more product. Action ITI to provide recommendations/feedback for participating in mail-outs. GDITT to follow up on available funding.

Their product is up on last year and are a strong company from the north in Manchester. ITI UK has arranged to work with Valley Vacations on a Delta stand at the Holiday Show in Manchester. Discussed joint booth at Manchester show for Delta. Duncan will supply booking agent, and means to book holidays, ITI to supply TV/Video, posters and brochures and man the booth. Atlanta CVB prepared to come up with the ground arrangements for holiday which would get maximum publicity dependant on Delta supplying 2 business class tickets. Unfortunately Delta has declined as they are already paying part of the booth costs with tickets and cannot give anymore for this show. Call Objective Discuss potential to add GA to their program as currently they only sell flights to Atlanta and Savannah, and hotels used are Atlanta Hilton and Towers, Ritz Carlton Plaza and Ramada Inn Airport South. Action AY to organize staffing for show. Inform Atlanta CVB, John Fish and Valley Vacations that we cannot do the prize. SB/BH to follow up with info on hotels/resorts in Atlanta and Savannah.

Mark Hansford, Delta Vacations Contact Leisure House Station Road Kings Langley Herts WD4 8LQ Phone: 01923 272054 Fax: 0870 900 6004 Email: [email protected] Overview Launched a new US program this year “Colors of America” which targets the consumers. The brochure should be launched at WTM. This program includes several pages of GA product including: Hilton Atlanta, Westin Savannah, Wesley Airport, Crown Plaza Buckhead, Holiday Inn on Jekyll, and Days Inn Suites in Savannah. GDITT offered GBP 2,000 marketing support for 2003 prior to June 30. They have a newsletter which includes a “Destination of the Month”. The newsletter is mailed to their mailing list, is included with the requested brochures and also is used at consumer shows. For the first time, DV is doing direct sale to consumers as opposed to selling to and through travel agents and they are also no longer exclusively using Delta (although 70% business is still on Delta). The company is pursuing more generic branding and continuing to focus on training. The company has been marketing Travellers Choice Brand for 4-5 years –and this is very price-driven. The company has a 10,000-person mailing list. 50% came for specific US business. Plans for 2003 include shopping stop-over package in Atlanta (discussed North Georgia Premium Outlets). Consumers will stay 3 nights in Atlanta with low rates in order to make it work (rates to be available 7 days/week). They need two hotels with same category. This will not be a “money maker” but a great exposure. They are interested in Jekyll Island, Savannah, and Ritz Carlton in Atlanta.
