Blickle training and factory tour

In September 2017 Gary and Joel from our team

visited the Blickle factory in Germany.

They experienced a full guided tour of the factory,

plus some great Germany hospitality and culture!

Seeing first-hand how castors and wheels are manufactured from bare steel right through to the finished product was an amazing experience. Also, gaining an insight into the engineering and load testing divisions including the huge logistic department. Blickle provide their own training sessions and classroom to make sure all their distributors are kept informed with the latest developments in the wheel and castor world. Both came back very impressed and freshly informed

were set in motion recently with the donation

of a sand tray for which Wheelco built a very

professional and robust frame, making it easier

to move between counselling rooms.

Waipuna Hospice counsellors use the sand tray to enable patients and families to express thoughts, feelings and worries by creating a scene with sand and miniature toys that represent aspects of their lives.It is a very valuable addition to our toolbox for

supporting those under our care and we are extremely grateful to Wheelco for their assistance.

These donations really encourage us along. Without the help and support from our local community businesses we would find it impossible to keep going. Our team of volunteers do an excellent job for those needing support and care in their last days. The equipment and trolleys are proving very beneficial. A big “Thank you”.

Case study: How Wheelco and Dyno worked together to make a business go along smoothly

Our customer, Dyno Conveyors, had a challenge

with a conveyor for a client who was using it

inside a reefer container.

These containers have raised aluminium flooring

with 45mm gaps between each bar (to allow air

circulation)

The challenge:• To allow easy movement of the 800KG conveyor

without the wheels falling into the flooring gaps and getting damaged.

• Low profile castors needed to work within a specific height and weight restriction.

• To spread the load evenly to save point loading• No floor damagesThe solution:Wheelco design team set about to provide the solution.Using the Heavy-duty castor fork we fitted another two wheels. These are manufactured from impact resistant nylon 6 with a heavy tread.

These, in effect, tripled the foot print and solved the problem, meaning another “Happy Customer”!Standard reefer container with raised aluminum flooring.

Interesting facts about Stainless Steel:

1. Some Stainless Steel Can Be Magnetic.Stainless steel is a non-magnetic material, in most cases. However, this is not true for all types of stainless steel. Stainless steels magnetic properties depend on its micro structure. Stainless steel can be divided into five groups: Austenitic, Martensitic, Ferritic, Duplex andPrecipitation Hardening.

2. Stainless Steel Can Stain.Stainless steel comes from a family of materials that resist corrosion and oxidation. This gives it the ability to resist rust and unsightly blotches. When exposed to oxygen and moisture, stainless steel produces a thin oxide film that coats the metal. It essentially repairs itself.

3. Stainless Steel Is Recyclable.Steel is one of the most recycled materials on the planet. According to the American Iron and Steel Institute, approximately 88% of the worlds steel is recycled. Further, two out of three tons of new steel

5. Stainless Steel Expands and ContractsStainless steel is valuable in the nuclear power and aerospace industries because it has a high temperature oxidation resistance. While it has a much higher resistance than many other metals, stainless steel still expands and contracts when the temperature varies.

6. Stainless Steel Can Be Woven and Worn.Stainless steel is incredibly ductile, which means it can be drawn out into a thin wire without losing its toughness. Many stainless steel manufacturers produce stainless steel mesh that is fine enough and pliable enough to wear.

start to wind in and always net them - there’s been many

a John Dory lost at the boat when it’s spat the bait.

John Dory would have to be one of our best

table-fish. A John Dory fillet is hard to beat.

They are found mainly in areas of broken foul

or reefs and also estuaries and harbours and

anywhere up to around 150m in depth.

They’re thin, deep bodied predators that

primarily eat small bait fish. They’re not the

fastest swimmers but stalk their prey and engulf

the unwary victim with a massive mouth.

Best Rigs: The best rig for John Dory is a single hook

dropper rigs with a small livebait. They may also be

taken with jigs, softbaits and occasionally, small cut

baits but cut baits are not recommended as a primary

way of targeting them.
