World History 7 2018-2019
This year we will be studying the ancient world and geography with a focus on historical thinking. Students will learn about…
o Early humans as hunter-gatherers
o The migration and settlement of
people
o The emergence of pastoral and
agrarian societies
o The rise and fall of powerful empires
o world religions
o Trade and the diffusion of ideas and
cultures.
• 7th Grade social studies is very project-oriented.
• Homework, including reading, worksheets, or
mini-projects, will be given on a regular basis.
• Larger assignments will be interspersed throughout the
year and given a longer period of time for completion.
• Traditional Tests/quizzes will cover articles, book
work, class notes and movie notes. We will review together, but it will be necessary to study at home. You will need to plan accordingly.
• Always check the agenda each day and copy into your
planner immediately. At home, check the Class Calendar on my website to help you stay on track.
• We use a wide variety of supplementary resource
materials. With our focus on the entire world, students will use these materials and will not receive their own copy of a textbook.
