WELCOME TO MEDICA 2015 IN DÜSSELDORF In 2014, 4,831 from 67 countries presented their products and services at MEDICA. Once again in 2015, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the Düsseldorf exhibition centre as a trade visitor to the global world market for medical technology and medical products in all their complexity and with answers to all your questions. MEDICA is still continuing on its international path and will also be presented this year with a unique variety of innovations on a worldwide scale.

In order to stay at its first-class level, the Düsseldorf trade fair, together with its partners, are making several changes for MEDICA 2015. The new show dates, from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th November 2015, are based on surveys, the structure of the show and the requirements of the trade visitors and exhibitors.

Not only MEDICA itself, but also the specialist forums and conferences should therefore benefit from an equally distributed level of visitors throughout the days of the event. And last but not least, this improvement means that the successful duo, MEDICA and COMPAMED are going to be running at the same time in their entirety.

In addition, experts are devising further theme-based orientations with regard to subject matter within the scope of the conferences and forums, thereby optimising the integration of science, theory and practice in line with the interests of the participants.

In a quick and compact manner, the forums offer practice-oriented incentives on specific medical topics, playing a central role during the trade fair.

At the MEDICA HEALTH IT FORUM, experience innovations in the field of data acquisition and networking. Top experts will be presenting pioneering developments in the fields of science and industry.

Internet of Things, M2M Communication, Wearable Technologies and Mobile Health are the topics of the MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTCARE FORUMS, complemented by medical apps and the MEDICA App COMPETITION.

Innovation with regard to medical technology and patent law issues are the key topics of the MEDICA TECH FORUM.

Practice-oriented wound management and the latest therapy concepts will be presented at the MEDICA WOUND CARE FORUM by reviewing specific case studies using the latest materials. Healthcare players in dialogue – under this heading the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK, a German health insurance company) along with Messe Düsseldorf are organising the MEDICA ECON FORUM by TK, the forum for the health industry.

Conferences connect the fields of science, practice and medical technology, thereby providing valuable knowledge for their respective sphere of duties.

The MEDICA EDUCATION CONFERENCE is a scientific continuing education event with a CME certification. Under the heading, “Science Meets Medical Technology”, the key topics, surgery, new operational techniques, imaging, endoscopy and interventions, geriatrics, palliative care and nutritional medicine, infectiology, inflammation and laboratory medicine will be presented.

The MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE is for the international professional sports medicine scene. It facilitates an interdisciplinary informational exchange between international sports medicine experts, representatives of the sport product industry and medical technology companies.

Physiotherapists , manual therapists and manual medical experts as well as osteopaths and

orthopaedists will experience three key topics at the MEDICA PHYSIO CONFERENCE: Manual therapy and osteopathy – two sides of a single coin? Pain causes due to the system of movement as well as myofascial therapy.

COMPAMED is the international industry meeting point for suppliers of the medical technology industry with, most recently, 724 exhibitors from 37 nations. Here, technological and service solutions for use within the medical technological industry are being shown – from new materials, components, primary products, packaging and services, through to microsystems technology; from individual components through to complex custom manufacturing.

The synergy effects of the world’s largest medical trade fair MEDICA being held at the same time make COMPAMED the ideal place for an information exchange amongst manufacturers, suppliers and system partners. In 2015, both trade fairs will be held in parallel for the first time for four days from Monday to Thursday.

At DiMiMED, international military doctors will be defining the current demands being placed upon medical technology. The latest knowledge in the field of military and disaster medicine as well as medical equipment for specific applications will be a key focus within the scope of the international information exchange of ideas.

The GERMAN HOSPITAL DAY is the central meeting point for all decision-makers from the field of in-patient care. This year, the focus will be on patient-oriented hospital care.

The EUROPEAN HOSPITAL CONFERENCE is the meeting place for all decision-makers from the field of in-patient care and will consist of around 150 top decision-makers from European hospitals: national and international hospital operators, hospital directors and managers, top managers responsible for patient care and leading hospital physicians.
