The exhaust from the engine is not only violating related air pollution control regulations of local authorit in each country, such as「Limits and measurement methods for exhaust pollutants from diesel engines of non-road mobile machinery」(Ⅰ;Ⅱ )(GB 20891-2007) of China; but also causing serious environmental problem; jeopardizing corporate image of the high tech. industries; increasing difficulty of granting certification of ISO 14000; and approval of 「 Environmental Impact Assessment」from the local authority.
The DUPS and Gensets installed in the high tech. industries, are not only tested for 10 to 15 minutes without load on the weekly basis, but also running at full
load when the normal power being interrupted such as unexpected black out or power dip. Due to very short duration of weekly DUPS and Gensets test run with no engine load, the exhaust temperature of the engine is always far below than the working temperature of catalyst or catalyst coated filter, which 300Co is normally required. The catalyst or catalyst coated filters cannot be used for any odor removal or filter auto regeneration because of low exhaust temperature. This highly increases cost of maintenance and resource due to the removal of large amount of filters and contract out for filters regeneration by kiln。

Owing to the high reliability and stability of electric power demand cannot be provided by the local power companies for the high tech. industries in Taiwan and China. The semiconductor; TFT LCD and solar cell manufacturers, are to be forced to install lots of Dynamic UPS and Emergency Generators to back up the normal power supply for the safe production. Aiming to prevent huge financial loss of production caused by each blackout or power dip from the interrupted normal power supply. The running of diesel engine driven DUPS and Gensets, are emitting large amount of toxic and polluted exhaust from the engine, that including Soot; Carbon Monoxide; NOX and Hydrocarbon, which is threatening and impacting the Clean Room operation of the Fabs. These chemicals of the engine exhaust are also toxic hazards to the people who lives in the local community nearby the Fabs.

『Soot removal array』 made by SIC Silicon Carbide filters can be heat resisted up to 2200 Co. The use of SIC is to safeguard the integrity of the filter against cracking, melting or other damage caused by thermal shock due to sudden temperature changes of filter.. The improper traditional filter regeneration design of using Cordierite honeycomb ceramic, appears to have potential fire hazard when filter is over sooting and the engine is running at full load at very high exhaust temperature.
System Back Pressure Calculation
The safe design of the patented system, detail pressure drop calculation is absolutely essential, that including calculation of pipeline; filters; catalyst and soot built up of the system, to ensure the system total pressure drop is always less than the engine maximum allowable back pressure defined by the engine manufacturer.
The design of system regeneration
The filters of patented system can be self regenerated by using the electrical heaters, which is designed based on the proper heat transfer to the filters. The traditional ways of preheating the system or running the engine of DUPS or Gensets with load to increase the exhaust temperature are not required.

Over sooting of filters will causes fire hazards, the filters of patented system can be regenerated automatically on site at any time when required, to ensure filter is absolutely absolute cleaned.
Path Selection Control Valve
「Path selection control valve」is made of high temperature resisted alloy. The valves are normally tested and operated hundreds times at 800 Co in the factory before deliver to site for installation, to ensure valves can be atomically open or closed without problems when running the DUPS or Gensets at full load for long period of time with the exhaust temperature over 500-600 Co.

The AZ series purifiers (Ceramic monolith) offers a unique Zeolite washcoat base and precious metal catalyst that provides extraordinary exhaust emissions reduction performance of Carbon monoxide (CO) and Hydrocarbon (HC or odor) on modern diesel engines, especially when the engine is running in the idle condition with very low exhaust temperature. The AZ purifiers has been tested according to the Buscyclus, Braunschweig and ISO 8178 by the Swedish Vehicles Test Authority and meets the stringent approval requirements for the Swedish market. The US EPA has also certified the AZ Purimuffler under the US urban bus retrofit/rebuild program.
The graph shows the reductions measured after an AZ 29 purifier has been installed on a Mercedes 814D lorry with an OM 366 engine.

SCR (Selective Catalytic Recovery) for NOX Reduction :
There are two major pollutants of the exhaust emitted from diesel engine, that concerning people around the world mostly, i.e. particulate (PM) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOX). The amount of yellowish NOX is over 44% of total pollutant of exhaust emitted from diesel engine, which is not only decreasing the visibility of our living environment, but also causing lung disease and jeopardize the public health due to it’s nature of toxic chemical. In order to protect public health and conserve our planet’s natural resources, legislation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and regulatory agencies in the European Union (EU) has, for the past decade, required that pollutants produced by diesel engine be reduced, and has established a strict schedule of increasingly stringent regulation of the emission of diesel engine. The process of SCR (Selective Catalytic Recovery) is well known as the most effective solution in treating NOX, which has been developed and widely used for the NOX abatement for the power plant; industry of chemical; semiconductor and TFT LCD manufacturing, or emission from exhaust of diesel engine for the on highway application of transportation, and non road application such as material handling; Gensets and Dynamic UPS.
Two major reducing agents which are normally used in SCR (Selective Catalytic Recovery) for the treatment of exhaust that containing NOX generated from diesel engine of Gensets and Dynamic UPS., i.e. 「Liquefied Ammonia」NH3 and「Aqueous Urea Solution」.The main chemical reactions by using the「Aqueous Urea Solution」as reductant in the process of SCR are shown as below:
1. NOX then be recovered to non-toxic gas of Nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O) when reacted with NH2 or NH3.
6NO + 4NH3 = 5N2 + 6H2O (4)
4NO + 4NH3 + O2 = 4N2 + 6H2O (5)
6NO + 8NH3 = 7N2 + 12H2O (6)
2NO2 + 4NH3 + O2 = 3N2 + 6H2O (7)
NO + NO2 + 2NH3 = 2N2 + 3H2O (8)
2. 「Aqueous Urea Solution」is decomposed to NH2 or NH3 and CO2 when the temperature above
160Co.
CO (NH2)2 = NH2 + CO (1)
CO (NH2)2 + H2O = 2NH3 + CO2 (2)
During the process of above thermal decomposition, NH2 can also be reacted with NO:
NH2 + NO = N2 + H2O (3)
The SCR De-NOX system supplied by Trivision equipped has special design of mixing pipe with two phase injection nozzle and dosing unit, not only to optimize the chemical reaction of NOX by atomizing and supplying「Aqueous Urea Solution」to the SCR reactor in a precise controlled flow rate; at high spraying
efficiency depending on the amount of NOX of exhaust emitted from the diesel engine, but also to prevent the Ammonia slip to the atmosphere that may caused the secondary air pollution issue.
The world class「De NOx Grade – Patented Emission Control System」is built by three major 「Exhaust Treatment Units」: (1) 「SIC Silicon Carbide Soot Removal Array」, made by 「Combifilter」 supplied by Swedish company「Engine Control Systems Europe AB」, not only the particulate of exhaust is trapped and
removed, but also SIC DPF can be regenerated automatically at site by electrical heaters which is independent from the exhaust temperature and load of diesel engine. (2) 「Oxidation Catalyst Odd Removal Array」, an excellent combination of 「Diesel Oxidation Catalyst」 and 「Zeolite」, where Hydrocarbon and Carbon
Monoxide can be reduced and odd of diesel exhaust also be removed even at very low exhaust temperature. (3) 「SCR De-NOx Reactor」, designed for NOx reduction of exhaust by integrating SCR (Selective Catalytic
Recovery) technology together with special developed mixing pipe and dosing unit of reductant. The required amount of Ammonia will be generated by using「Aqueous Urea Solution」for the usage in the SCR process
depending on the content of NOx of exhaust.
The invention patents of Taiwan and U.S.A. have granted in 2004 and 2007 respective, due to the state of art system design and excellent performance of the「De NOx Grade – Patented Emission Control System」. The
patented system has been wildly installed of Gensets and Dynamic UPS in the high tech. industry of Great China not only with high reliability and low maintenance cost, but also the emission of treated exhaust from the patented system complies with the regulations listed as below:

The DZ Purifiers consist of metallic monolith coated with advanced precious metal catalyst and packaged into stainless steel housings and are normally used on the mining equipments. The DZ purifier oxidizes hazardous carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) to form harmless carbon dioxide and water. They are featured with quick release clamps to allow for easy removal of the catalyst center body for the inspection. As a long an industry favorite, DZ purifier offers compact size and low exhaust back pressure.
The installation of DZ purifier is recommended as close to the exhaust manifold of engine as possible (within 300-500 mm)

combined readily with DZ and AZ purifiers to provide a compact purifier.silencer system with low back pressure characteristics. Both DMS and DMXS-Ⅱ silencers conveniently fit between the purifier centerbody and outlet cone. DMS silencers are designed to typically provide 10 db(A) noise reduction. DMXS-Ⅱ silencers
are designed to typically provide 15 dB(A) noise reduction. Add-on silencers are furnished with a clamp and gasket to allow combination with AZ or DZ quick release purifiers.
