WELCOME TO ECOWEEK 2014 IN PRISHTINA!

ECOWEEK takes place in Prishtina for the first time! It is very exciting to be among students and professionals from different countries, and to bring the ECOWEEK principles of education, cooperation, and sustainability to Kosovo!

ECOWEEK workshops have taken place in several cities around the world, including Thessaloniki, Athens, Krakow, Rome, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Belgrade, addressing local design and planning issues, in a week of international activity, lectures and design workshops on green design, ecological buildings and sustainable communities.

I take this opportunity to thank the organizing team led by architect Argjira Krasniqi, and our partners for their support and successful cooperation. A special thank you to the Municipality of Prishtina and University of Prishtina for the partnership, hospitality, and for offering its students the opportunity to join the ECOWEEK workshops. A warm welcome and thank you to the speakers and workshop leaders who came from different parts of the world - Kosovo, Greece, Poland, Spain, Italy, France, Holland, Belgium, England and the United States - for freeing up time in their busy schedules to be with us in Prishtina! Last, but not least, I welcome the students and young professionals that joined the ECOWEEK workshops and wish you a successful, educating, motivating, inspiring and sustainable week!

ECOWEEK is a non-governmental non-profit organization with the mission to raise environmental awareness and to promote the principles of sustainability. ECOWEEK was established in Greece in 2005, and today is active in nearly 15 countries with a network of students and young professionals - the ECOWEEK NET – in more than 45 countries.
